They recommend as soon as they can sit up. Standing happens before you know it. You never know what they are capable of until they do it.

Once mine could sit up or stand alone, I lowered it all the way down. Such a hassle to lower it in increments. Just do it once and be done with it.

We keep lowering it everytime we notice that as she stands at the side the top bar is under her armpits. You don't want them to get a good pull and go over the top.
