Looking to Make New Friendships

We have currently experienced a surge of people deploying and some of those people have been very dear to us. My daughter and I are looking to meet new moms and children for us to make new friendships with, maybe to go to the pool with, bowling, movies, or any other fun activities. My daughter is currently an only child (six yrs old) and most of the kids in our neighborhood have moved away. I wouldn't mind to find someone to chat with as well.

What can I do next?

Hi P.,
I am here at Fort Hood to. There are several groups on www.meetup.com. You can search for ones in our area they have play groups, army wives groups, I belong to the friendship, wine and dine group. You have to become a member to look at the group (fw&d).It don't cost a thing. Some groups do cost a membership fee. It cost to start the group. If you join and don't like it them all you have to do is take yourself off. They leave messages and have calendar of evens going on. If you have any questions let me know. Hope this helps. S.

A great resource for Moms is Mothers and More:
http://www.geocities.com/fthoodareamothersandmore/

I was a member with an older child, so didn't get to participate as much with the infant/toddler activities, but still a great group of gals. We were considered "Seasoned Moms"

My son just turned 7 and we attend library activities in both Killeen and Harker Heights, swim at home, bowl at Clear Creek and LOVE movies (that's our mother/son treat, especially early shows in the summer when it's not crowded)!

Maybe we'll get to meet one day! :)
