My husband and I are moving to Oak Park with our two month old baby girl and need to find a pediatrician. We've heard some good things about Pedios. Does anyone have recommendations about pediatricians in Oak Park especially one that has special expertise in breastfeeding? Are there any practices that you would avoid? Thanks for your help!

I'm in Oak Park with a 7 month old daughter. We go to Dr. Rebecca Barbato (ph. ###-###-####). Her office is in North Riverside. We love her. I'm not sure she has "special expertise" with breastfeeding, but she certainly doesn't discourage it. I breastfeed and she's always been very encouraging and supportive.

I have been going to Pedios for 4 years, since my son was born. I now have added a daughter to the mix, she is 1. They have served me well there. There are three doctors there ... dr. Claus, dr. Wagener and dr. Hawkness.... Dr. Hawkness (she is young) has two daughters about the same age as my children. It was nice to have a doctor going thru the same thing as you around the same time. She also breastfed and is pretty knowledgeble in the subject. All I can say is try it out, you will prob. like it. The nurses are great and always very accomodating.
Dr. Peter Grant is incredible - he is on Lake street, just east of Marion Street - there is parking, and he is just great! I totally recommend calling him!
I love Dr Mercola. He is an excellent Pediatrician. I take my 3 kids to him and couldn't be happier. He has great bedside manner, relates well to my kids and me, spends plenty of time with us and is very knowledgable. Hope this helps.
HIGHLY Recommend PEDIOS! Both doctors that we have experience with there---Dr. Donna Wagoner and Dr. Harkness--are excellent. Great Pediatrician Group. Affiliated with Children's Memorial Hospital too.
