Can anyone recommend a pediatrics practice in the Oak Park/River Forest area? We had a very bad experience with Pedios and will not go back, so we are looking for other recommendations. Thanks!

We love Dr. Robin Uchitelle, ###-###-####. She has a partner, who has been good too. Haven't had any issues getting in quickly, waiting room isn't crazy, pretty easy going.

We moved here just over 2 years ago and had a bad experience with Pedios too. Since that time, we've been seeing Dr. Barbato at North Riverside. She is GREAT! My oldest daughter, who will turn 4 in October, LOVES her. I also just had a baby in March and have been very happy with how well she works with infants. We've only had two visits where we had to see one of her partners because she was unavailable, and we've never had more than 15-20 minute wait in the lobby. She's also been very helpful on call when we had a situation where we were questioning whether to take my olderst to the ER. We took her advice which immediately solved the problem and saved ourselves a trip. On top of it all, we've seen her several times around town, and she always remembers us and initiates a conversation or a hello at the very least. I highly recommend her.

I really like Dr. Cindy Rubin at Loyola. Her main office hours are done at the clinic on Harlem in North Riverside.

She's young, very good about explaining what is going on and patient when I am asking 20 questions about my 6 week old as a first time mom.

Beyond that, you get the support of the Loyola network and a great nurses line for any of those really life 3 a.m. medical issues.

I absolutely adore our pediatrician and one of her partners. I take my daughter (26 months) to Dr. Mary Hutton at Elmhurst Clinic in Oak Park. It's on North Avenue. ###-###-####). I've also worked with Dr. Liu in the office, whom I also really like.

I was having a very difficult time finding a pediatrician I liked and trusted. Dr. Hutton and Dr. Liu (and the whole practice actually) have been wonderful.

I love my pediatrician in Oak Park - Dr. Maimoona Shah. She is with Anchor Medical Group in the building right next to the Rush Oak Park hospital. Her address is: 610 S. Maple, Oak Park. Phone: ###-###-####. I have 7 month old twins and she's been our pediatrician from day one. She gives good advice, is experienced, calm and caring - our babies love her!

Just wanted to say that we use Dr. Scott Mercola too & so far we are happy with him. We know several other families that use him. He takes time to talk to us & is warm & friendly towards our baby boy. Also, we like both of his nurses & the receptionist too.

My 9 year old and 3 year old have always gone to the pediatricians from Loyola Hospital on Harlem Ave. In North Riverside. It's just north of 22nd. They are awesome and I trust them with my life.

When our son was born we used Ad Park Pediatrics in Oak Park. We loved Dr. Flint (she was recommended by my OB) and her partners were fine except it was a group practice and you never saw the same doctor twice in a row. The bigger problem was there was one doc in the group I really disliked and I did not want to take any more chances that he would be the one we got. We switched to M&M kids 10 years ago and I could not be happier. They are in the Gottlieb Hospital Professional Building so it is not all that far from OPRF area. There are two female doctors in the practice and you can see whichever one you want, consistently. I HIGHLY recommend this practice! Good luck

We were with a big practice, 4 peds, and never felt like I was really known. This is just one doctor and whenever I bring one child in, he always asks me about the other and asks specific questions about the child because he really knows us. Hope this helps!

I am not sure if it is too far but we go to Loyola's North Riverside office (Harlem and 22nd). Our main doctor is Rebecca Barbato and we really like her. We have seen the other doctors for same day appointments when Dr. Barbato wasn't available and have liked all of them as well. Hope this helps. The front desk staff is sometimes a little hectic and short but it generally is not too bad.

Hi E., We are very happy with the family practice doctors at 6645 W. North Ave., Oak Park, ###-###-####. They are part of Elmhurst Clinic: http://www.elmhurstclinic.org/ Dr. Mary Hutton is the best (great with our 4-yr-old daughter, my husband, and myself and has been very supportive of and kind to all of us). She *really* listens. The other doctors are terrific too.

Good luck!

I have a 3 yr old and a 18m old and we go to Ad Park Pediatrics on Maple in Oak Park. They are in the Professional Building next to Oak Park Hospital. Dr. Flint is awesome and her covering partners have always been responsive. The nurses there are good too and will take phone calls and get you in if need be.

My doctor doesn't see kids, but her partner does. Dr Emily Beamer ###-###-####. She's always been wonderful when she was on call and we had an emergency (mostly with my parents). Whatever you do, I would interview a few before picking one. Good luck.

Wow, my family has had a very different experience with the doctors at Elmhurst Clinic in Oak Park. We will never go to this office again. Dr Kyle was the only Doctor we dealt with there who was both compassionate and highly skilled. (and now he left the office).
Dr Liu in particular is a huge liability to this practice. In my opinion she is very dismissive and abrasive. She also seems to be lacking any real diagnostic skills. A lot of, "Ummmm, ahh, I guess it could be ____." Not helpful or supportive. She never know what the real issue is, and she usually seems to be in a huge hurry to get out of the exam room we are in so she can move on to her next patient. Horrible.
Dr Hutton in the same office seems to be very out of touch. She has never made me or my children feel like she actually knows what our current concerns and/or medical history is/are.
We are meeting a new doctor today, in a completely different office, and I really hope this doctor has their act together!
