We go to Dr. Karyn Wiest on the corner of Red Bug Lake rd and Slavia in the Physician Associates medical center. http://www.paof.com/Physicians/physician_detail1.asp?Phys... She helped us get through our needed surgery when our son was 4 weeks old. She is very caring. She has the office open late one day a week which is nice for after hour appointments.

I think you'd like Dr Lisa Ramey. She has an office in Oviedo, near Oviedo High.

I love Dr. Holson at Interlachen Pediatrics. There are 11 physicians in the practice so it's easy to find one that suites you. They have 2 offices, one in Oviedo at the intersection of Broadway and Winter Springs Blvd. and one in Maitland on Lake Howell Rd just off 436 past the Red Bug Lake Rd. intersection. Here's a link to their website: http://www.intpeds.com/home1.htm.

Some of the things I love about them include daily walk-in hour from 8am-9am for sudden illnesses (my son had strep twice this past year); they have Saturday sick emergency visits by appt which was invaluable when my son had an allergic reaction to penicillin; you can schedule appts. online which is great when the only quiet time in my house is after kids are in bed; and on-line request for medical forms needed for preschool & school - they mail them to you fairly quickly.

I have been happy with Dr. Samuel Smith (he is a D.O.) at Interlachen Pediatrics for over 10 years. He works out of both the Maitland and Oviedo offices & I live in between so either work for me. If I need to make an appt., I will go to the office he is in. Interlachen is a large practice (11 drs. & 4 ARNPs) so you will also see other docs if you go in for a sick visit when you can't schedule ahead, but I have not had any concerns with the other docs we have seen. Fortunately, my daughter is healthy and we usually schedule ahead for well visits with Dr. Smith. He is great about talking to the child and taking his time. I feel like he will listen to my questions & take the time to answer without making me feel like a neurotic mother. I feel that he has been open to discussion when I have had questions about vaccine safety & treatment options for minor health problems. I know parents who have children with special needs and they have been very happy with his attention and care of their children. Check out their website for info on all the docs & ARNPs. www.intpeds.com. Good luck.
