Looking for Great General Practitioner or Internist In/near Dallas

Now that I'm no longer under an OB's care, I need a doctor. I tried one randomly selected from my insurance plan and could not have had a worse experience (2+ hour waits for appointments, they lost my transferred records, etc.). So I am looking for a doctor or practice with whom someone has personal experience--someone who is at least available for and accountable to their patients. I have good insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield), am located near downtown Dallas, and don't mind driving a little if needed. Thanks.

What can I do next?

I had the same problem with my OB. everything was a nightmare. She was so bad I ended up with 3 major surgries that could have been prevented if she was a good DR. I cahanged DRs and have found to be very happy with the new DR. She is wonderful. Her and the other OB's in her office were all written up in D Mag as one of the best in Dallas Her name is Dr Barbara Crockett her number is ###-###-#### I also have the address and a website that you can go look at that is about the practice. 8160 Walnut Hill Lane suite 306
Dallas, TX 75231

I use Dr. Zadeh with Dallas Medical Specialists at Medical City. I've used him for a few years and have always had good luck getting in and timely appointments. He's got a nice bedside manner, too. ###-###-####

Hi L. -

I just went last week for the first time to Dr. Dirk Frater. His nurse, Candy, is in her late 40's/early 50's (great experience) and is absolutely amazing - SO sweet. He was so thorough and extremely friendly. He spent so much time listening to me and talking to me - I never felt rushed in any way whatsoever. He made me feel like I was his only patient. It does take about a month to get in for a new patient (when you're already a patient and need a sick visit - it's sooner to get in). You can always ask them to let you know if there are any cancellations. I cannot tell you how much it was worth the wait. My son's pediatrician referred him. I also saw that he was in D Magazine as one of the top internists in the Dallas area. He used to be an ER doctor at Parkland - he's been around and seen a lot of things. I know how important it is to find a good doctor (and staff) - I am extremely picky. Anyway, his number is ###-###-####. He is at Presby Dallas off 75 and Walnut Hill. I hope he works for you. I can't express how amazing he is.

Good Luck!
S.

I use Dr. Teresa Eichenwald at Medical City Dallas Specialists...she and her whole group are amazing. She is so personable, she feels more like my friend than my doctor. I also work at the same hospital and if she sees me in the hallways she will take an extra moment to stop and ask how my children are. I really love that about her. Most doctors wouldn't remember you in a crowd of people. Their phone is ###-###-####.

My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Bill Christiansen at Baylor for several years. His specialty is Internal Medicine. He's in his early forties, I believe, very personable and a GREAT listener. Sometimes I just think I'm a hypocondriac and he will validate my concerns. His office is on the corner of Washington at Gaston.

I see Dr Felicia Tillman at Health Central Women's Care, located at Walnut Hill and IH75 - Presby Dallas, Margot Perot Bldg. Seems like I was in that office every other week when I was pregnant! There are several other doctors in the practice, so I was always able to see someone and the Physician's Assistants were great....never a wait. If you click on their website, you can browse through the ins section to make sure that your ins is accepted.
