Looking for a Soft Playmat

We actually just bought a soft play structure from a Children's Factory. They also have playmats. Check it out.

You could get those hook together mats for under gym equipment and put the cute mat on top. They are cushy and easy to put together (like a puzzle)and very afordable. They have them at most stores. I think we bought ours at Sears. You can use only as many as you need to fit under the pad you have already. Just a thought. We use them for the floor of out tents when camping, they are great and light weight .

I have these: http://www.greatmats.com/products/dense-foam-mats.php that I got used from another mom on Golden Gate Mother's Group - they are expensive but absolutely perfect. Much thicker than the typical ABC mats and comes with edge pieces which is key.

I have used the abc puzzle mats, bought 2 sets of them and wasn't even two weeks that they were being taken apart by my little one, wish I had bought one large mat that didn't come apart. Just wanted you to be aware that if you got the ones that fit together like a puzzle that they will eventually learn they come apart then it defeats the purpose of having a soft place to play. I kept putting it back together and finally gave up and just tried to watch her as best I could, she's almost 3 now and many falls on the hardwood floor later is just fine. After the no go with the puzzle mats I even bought one of those soft head protectors(looks like a fabric helmet) for kids but she pulled that off too.

Not sure if they're as cushiony as what you'd like - but they're thicker than the ABC tiles and have worked really well for us.

You could get a rug and a cushy rug mat to go underneath?
