I am looking for a pedi in the lewisville/flower mound area(grapevine is okay too!). I am taking my son to one in grapevine and am farely disapointed. She's in and out in less than 5 min, throws meds at us and barely interacts with my son. I am on medicaid so my choices are farely limited but if anyone out there is on Medicaid or knows their pedi takes Amerigroup and loves their pedi...please share. My son was 8 weeks early had heart issues and has acid reflux. He turns 1 on May 3rd!!! :) I've always loved how people rave about the responses they get so please HELP!!! :) :)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

a BIG thank you to all of you who responded!!! Its wonderful to know that there ARE people who are happy with their pedi's...thats SO important! I made tons of phone calls and seems that no one took Amerigroup so i am going to a place where i had already interviewed a Dr. in Carollton. I was really hoping to find someone closer to home but oh well...thank you for all the help! Now i'm in need of more help!!! Idea's on activities for 1st b day party with cowboy them. Party is only 2 hours, plan on doing presents/cake but there will be older kids there so i wanted to know "what can i do for entertainment for a short time?"

I take all 3 of my kids to Dr. Dhaliwal in Flower Mound. I like him because I never feel rushed and he can always get us right in. As an added bonus, his wife practices family medicine in the same building, so it's like 1-stop-shopping. Good Luck.

we have the same problem trying to find someone who accepts medicaid in this area. we moved from arlington 6 months ago <almost everyone accepts medicaid there!> we continue to make the drive to arlington, we signed up for the medical transportation program - they pay for your gas 51 cents a mile. the reimbursement makes it alot easier money wise.. just wish we could find someone closer so its more convenient!

My pedi is in Lewisville and I love her and the other two doctors in the practice. Unfortunately I cannot tell you if they accept Medicaid or not. You can search the internet for their webpage and maybe you can find the information there or just call the office. Lake Lewisville Pediatrics.

Good luck!

My kiddo goes to Kids First Pediatrics in Highland Village (near Flower Mound/ Lewisville border). We chose Susan Badaracco, MD as our pediatrician, but have seen all of the providers and they're great. My son was a preemie and had bad reflux and they've always taken the appropriate amount of time with us and are great about returning calls in a timely fashion as well as getting him in quickly if needed.

I would highly recommend Dr Eric Benzick in Southlake. He has been my son's pedi since birth and he is 3 yrs now. He interacts a lot with my son during visits and my son cant wait to go back to his office.

I am fairly new to the area so I don't know if The Colony is too far, but we ended up having to find a Ped quick because my daughter got hurt just a few weeks after arriving here. The only ped in the area that would make time to see her right away was Dr Stellman and Dr Paruolo. We usually see Dr Stellman. He is fabulous with the kids and wonderful at making mom comfortable. He never has made me feel like a silly overprotective mom (even though I probably am!)

i ABSOLUTELY ADORE dr. william paruolo in the colony. i would travel MILES and MILES to get to him if i had to. he has been fabulous since the day my daughter was born and she is now 4 years old. he and his partner, dr. stellman, are both wonderful. one of the things i love most is that you can call them at any hour with a question and when you apologize for bothering them at 3:00 am or just on their time off, they ALWAYS tell you it's OK; that's their job. the office staff is excellent. i know they accept medicaid because it is posted in their office.

the other thing i ADORE about dr. bill (that's what he wants his patients' parents to call him) is that every vist he tells me and my husband that we are awesome parents and we are doing great. it sounds silly but when you are a new parent, you NEED that reassurance.

their number is ###-###-####

Our pedi takes traditional medicaid and she is WONDERFUL!!! I cannot say enough good things about her!!! But she is in Keller. I think she's worth the drive but thats up to you.

She takes time with each of our children. She even talks to them about wearing helmets when bike riding and such things as that. She seems to genuinely care about her patients. The only downside about her is that she's not very familiar with alternative treatments (such as chiropractic, herbs and such as that...but unfortunately that is pretty normal).

Her name is Dr. Sara Yok at Cooks Children's in Keller. She's located at the corner of Keller Parkway and Rufe Snow. Her phone number is ###-###-####. I hope you will call her because she is really great!

Hope this helps.
