Looking for a Great Church to Join

I'm looking for a great church to join. I was raised/baptized Methodist and both my daughters have been baptized, but not my husband. The church does not have to be Methodist. I'm looking for a fun church with a kids chior and/or great kids programs near the Joliet/Plainfield area. My kids are 6 and 1. If you love your church, tell me about it!

What can I do next?

I was raised Catholic and had my children baptist. But I never felt that church for was for me. About 5 years ago I started attened Community Christian Church. There is a campus for it in Trinity School on Black rd. The website for the church is www.communitychristian.org.

We go to the Grace Baptist Church of Lockport. It is awesome. The pastor is a Marinie and he is so funny (you know not boring). We have tons of kids programs as well as choirs for all ages. We are a close church family and we love getting to know people. The church is at 501 State St in Lockport. The church phone is ###-###-#### Gice us a call and check it out.

We belong to Sharon UMC. It is a little church in downtown Plainfield. Everyone there is very nice. We just recenlty joined. There are not a lot of kids, but they do have a children's choir and Sunday school. We tried the other UMC in Plainfield, which is quite a bit larger, but people weren't really nice to us. No one introduced themselves to us or tried to make us feel welcome. We tried them a couple of times, but received nothing. Sharon UMC made us feel welcome from the moment that we walked in the door. I'm still trying to learn everyone's name, but everyone stops and talks to each other. They also have several events that they do on a monthly basis. Good luck and I hope to see you there!

I go to Plainfield United Methodist. I am not Methodist, but the church has great people and wonderful children's programs. They have a website and are located in downtown Plainfield, one block from the library.

We go to the Methodist church in New Lenox. It is right on 30, a couple of miles east of 80. Don't know if that is too far, but we love it! http://www.umcnl.com/

Have you considered Minooka United Methodist Church? I live in the south end of Planfield - almost Shorewood, and it's only about 15 minutes for us. It's small, but we do have land bought and paid for and are in the process of trying to build a bigger church. We also have a preschool when your one year old is ready! We also have soccer on Sundays - actually this Sunday we are having a BBQ on the new property, you'd be more than welcome!
