Looking for a Good Foundation

I'm looking to change my foundation and I'm looking for recommendations. I have been using Bobby Brown foundation for over 2 years now, and I just want to find out if there are any equivalent foundations in the market that are less expensive. I pay about $40, it's good but in this type of economy I'm trying to cut down on that. Thank you ladies!

Years ago, I used Bobby Brown, then Bare Escentuals Mineral Makeup, and now I'm a Mary Kay Consultant. We carry the greatest quality mineral and liquid foundations. The price is much less than that of department store brands, but equal in quality! Give it a try! There's a money-back guarantee of on products. You can try it and bring it back, just like in the department stores. You could meet with me, call me, or order online. I truthfully love all their products!

Try Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish sponge-on cream makeup. You can't even tell you are wearing foundation, it just does a great job concealing uneven skin and giving you a smooth finish. It's still a little pricey, around $30.
Good-luck on your search!

I love, love love my Mark Kay mineral Powder foundation. So much so, that I started selling it! I never thought I would ever love Mary Kay (I am 36 and always thought of it as my Mom's make-up), but the products are awesome and their image has changed too! I have customers who used to wear ONLY Bear Minerals and said they would never switch - even THEY love the Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation and have made the switch. Please respond to me if you would like to try some - or you can even go to the Mary Kay website and type in you zip code to find someone near you. As a customer, I love it - it does a great job of coverage and give a more "airbrushed" soft look to my complexion. It is $18 and will last for about 3-6 months if you use it a lot. There is a brush (if you don't already have a mineral brush that you like) for $10. I always run sales (as do most of the reps out there) so it's unusual to have to pay full price on every order. Anyway, good luck with your search!

Over a year ago I made the switch from liquid to mineral foundation. I have very red cheeks to cover, so I was worried about the amount of coverage I'd get, but discovered that it's AWESOME! I love the light feel of the mineral powder, but that it still gives me great coverage! I started with Bare Minerals, but it was kinda pricey, so now I use Everyday Minerals, which is MUCH less expensive. I order everything online, and what I liked best when I switched is that they allow you to order free small samples of different shades to try out. It costs you only about $3 for shipping. Once I chose my shade, I ordered a kit where I could get 6 of their products, mixed and matched, for about $30. Their large is a great size, and runs about $11. I also love their concealer and blush, and they have nice brushes for applying them, which can be part of your kit. It might be worth at least ordering the samples and trying it out. Just look online for Everyday Minerals.

Good for you for asking. Everyone really needs to be an informed consumer about their makeup and what they put on their skin - all personal care products. Look at this website to find how all makeup ranks: http://www.cosmeticdatabase.com/ I think you will be surprised to see that many have very bad ingredients in them! Never use anything with mineral oil in it.

I have lots of information on makeup and personal care products and why it truly is "buyer beware". Even products that claim "natural" or "botanical" may have other ingredients that are harmful. Dyes, chemicals, fragrances, mineral oil, parabens, and the like are all skin irritants and some are even very harmful. Do your due diligence and check out the safest products in the world. Go to www.karenmacnab.mionegroup.com and see what to FEED your skin. It is totally worth it and you will see and feel the difference that 100% certified organic products make.

Email me for testimonials and samples too. You only get one chance at your skin so do it right!

To your health and beauty,

K.

Hi Sara,
I, too, am a "recovering" Bobbi Brown addict. LOL
This winter I switched back to MAC and have been using this really creamy foundation they have that is super-moisturizing for my skin. It's less money - I think around $20.
Also FYI Bobbi Brown & MAC are both owned by Estee Lauder - - many times you can get the same quality for not quite so much money.
IMO, even with the economy tanking, I like buying makeup that I've been able to test/try on in advance of buying so I know it looks good & doesn't irritate my skin...even if it costs a bit more.
Hope this helps!

I stopped using foundation when I found clinique super powder. It covers and isn't that liquid messy foundation stuff. It rocks. It's around $20. See if you can try it out for free at the counter.

Bare Essentials. It's a wonderful product and lasts (when put on properly) months. I'm not sure if it's sold at regular department stores but I get mine from Q.V.C. Don't ever buy your product from a mall store. You'll pay 60% more for it.

Hi Sara:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Giorgio Armani face fabric. It is $35 and can be purchased at Nordstrom. Over the years, I have used all brands of foundation and I have never used anything like it. It melts right into your face and the transition from skin to foundation is seemless. I highly recommend it. They will even give you a sample if you want to give trial run.

Good luck,
A.
