Looking for a Great Foundation

So this is pretty minor on the "needs" scale--but I'm going to put it out there anyway. I have never found a great foundation that I love. I have tried several kinds and just have not been impressed. I have fair skin that is on the dry side--I would really like one that provides moisture and really smooths over those "problem" spots. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow! Thanks so much for all those great suggestions! I am going to spend some time this weekend sorting through them and I'm sure at least one will work out. Thanks again!

I love bare escentuals Bare Minerals. I really like the face prep cream with glycolic acid because my skin is also dry.

I recently started using the garnier renew products under the powder foundation and really like it.

It's tricky because you have to have a light hand, but I seriously love this stuff. It's the first make up that I feel comfortable wearing.

Hi M.,
I love You Rebel Lite by Benefit. It's a tinted moisturizer with SPF 15, vitamins E&A and aloe. It doesn't provide a lot of coverage because it's basically a moisturizer with a little color added. I just put on concealer where I need coverage and this everywhere else. You can find it at Sephora stores (they will give you a sample to try) or online at sephora.com

Have a great day!

Hi M. - I see that you have received good info to check out, but in case you have not found a solution yet, I would like to recommend Glimpse Intuitive Skin Care which is now available through XanGo Distributors to actually heal problem spots, discolorations, uneven tone, fine lines and more, and then application of a mineral-based powder foundation. Please visit www.findgreenhere.com (Safe Cosmetics Page, Cosmetic Database) to be sure that any and all personal care products that you and your boys use are all in the safe/nonhazardous ratings range. Glimpse is great for the entire family (including teenage skin issues), is all clean and green, made in the US, and has no harsh chemicals or potentially toxic ingredients. I am holding Skin Nutrition Classes in my home in San Jose, or at the client's home to inform on the unregulated cosmetics industry and the US, and to let you as well as your teens try Glimpse for yourselves! Please feel free to contact me. V. Garnese :o)

Hi M.,
When I was pregant with my son, I worked at Estee Lauder. I discovered a really great covering makeup it's called Maximum Cover. It will cover up anything, including scars and burns ect ect. It's about $30.00 a tube but really worth it, if you're looking for a makeup that provides great coverage. If your looking for something not so pricy, I'd try Lorea'l Balancing Act. It's a lighter formula, and dosn't cover as well, but if you used a concealer under the eyes and on any problem areas, this foundation works great also. Good Luck :)

Hi,
I read your post and I think you should try Laura Mercier primer and foundation. It's sold at Sephora, Macys, etc.

Good Luck!

Hi M.,

I love my Mary K foundation. I would have never considered it, but my mom talked me into doing one of the consultations with her and I have used it ever since! I have challenging combination skin and uneven brown spots from pregnancy and I have been really happy with how the foundation covers.

M.,
I have used several foundations and feel the same way I could not seem to find the right look on my face.

I have been using "Sheer cover".. I used Bare Mineral which is good as well but I feel it was heavier than I wanted it to be, but I may have been using more to cover problem areas..
Sheer cover is so light and feels really nice on my face,
try Sheercover.com and you can cancel anytime its working well on me...
Good luck......

The best foundation is Arbonne Foundation. I have used clinique, Estee Lauder, Mary Kay and all the cheap kinds. I think Mary Kay has a great concealer, but thats about it. A lot of people tell you its great, but it's because they sell it. I noticed that it didn't dry out my skin or cause blemishes. I would try the Arbonne Skin care line also-I don't even go to the dermatologist anymore, because of their great skin care.

I love my Clinique foundation. I have dry skin also and have slight rosecea and it covers it up very well and makes my skin all one color without leaving streaks. I had them try on several until there was one that I found that I liked. I would suggest doing the same.

You can find the greatest foundation in the world, but it won't cover the way you want it to unless you have a great skincare regimen. I agree with another woman about Mary Kay. We have a great skincare line called TimeWise, as well as great additions like our Even Complexion Essence, eye firming cream, and facial highlighters. We also have several different types of foundations, including our brand new mineral powders. With Mary Kay, you can ALWAYS try it before you buy it, and we have a 100% money-back guarantee. I'm a consultant new to the Bay Area. Feel free to check out my website http://www.marykay.com/gkindberg to see ALL of our great products. I can send samples, but meeting with you to allow you to try several different types of foundations would be best.

M.,
I have become a great lover of Bare Escentuals. They have it at the galleria mall, Ulta, and Sephora. It is the only one that makes me not break out more. And I don't get that
sticky feeling like I did with the liquid. Their big tease mascara is great too.

JAFRA-Hands down it is the best. With a guarantee! Remember, while the quality of the product matters, if you don't have a good moisturizer or primer, no foundation will look great.
Check JAFRA out-I promise you'll be happy with it.

P.S. I was a personal shopper at Nordstrom and had my pick of any cosmetic product FREE and I still would only use JAFRA! It's that good.
