My name is S. and our family goes to St. John's Lutheran in Lombard-it is ECLA. It is an AWESOME church. My husband Jon plays drums on the Praise Team. They are a contemporary band and they are awesome. Our pastor is young and incredible-we are so blessed to be members there. Last year at this time my husband was atheist and I was catholic. Since then Jon has been baptized and accepted Christ. If you want, email me offlist and we can talk more. Our saturday night service is very casual (no collection or communion usually) and it is for people who don't want the stress of the Sunday morning service. My kids are 3 and 1 and they love it too. The music keeps them entertained and there is a nursery too. Let's talk!

We do not have a preschool, but we do have a contemporary worship and sunday school programs. We also have many mid week bible studies as well as a play group. I've heard good things about St. John Lutheran Church and School in Lombard-- maybe you should check it out. They have a preschool, kindergarten- 8th grade school. 215 S. Lincoln Ave.

Hi! We also just moved here in June. Where are you from? We came from Texas.
My husband sounds a lot like yours. I have also been out of church for a while. We have a 10 month old boy and were looking for many of the same things you are. We just visited Christ Church in Oak Brook. It has a contemporary service at 8:30 on Sundays. They also offer some evening services, but I'm not sure what or when. They have a website, http://www.cc-ob.org/ so you may want to check it out. We really enjoyed it, and I'm pretty sure they have a preschool. They also offer a program called M.O.P.S. (mother's of preschoolers) that starts in September. It is a great way to network with other moms of small children.

My family and I go to Parkview Comm in Glen Ellyn- it's right off of Rt53 and St Charles Rd. The childcare is amazing and well organized, the church is beautiful and everyonethe whole atmosphere is very comfortable. They have a website you can check out. We love it, and prior to attending this church I couldn't get my husband to like any church. It's truly amazing.
