i don't what part of Raleigh you're looking for but we go to Lifepointe www.lifepointechurch.org It's non-denominational and praise and worship. There is no dress code. people wear jeans or more traditional sunday clothes. We meet at Six Forks Movie Theater off of Six Forks and Forum Dr. we also have a location at the Wakefield theater. we have nursery as well as "Kid zone" and "Fam Jam" that is awesome. but its a very welcoming place and everyone is accepted exactly like they are. It's worth a try :) hope to see you there!!!!!! we usually go to the second service at Six Forks.

I reccomend Living Word Family Church. It's right off Capital Blvd, north of 540. You can go to LWFC.org for more info, but there are lots of kids there and the have a great kids program.

Hope Lutheran in Wake Forest (on Rogers Road near the Factory) is a great church that just may suit you very well. I just wrote you several paragraphs about it, but lost my text when I went to get the link to copy into this message. I'm exhausted, so I can't start over, but give Hope Lutheran a try, and I think you'll love it. It is a very fast-growing congregation with many young families. It is a Christ-centered biblically-focussed ministry that always feels current and relevant. Services of different styles are offered Saturday evening, and 8:30 and 11:00am Sunday morning. I've found the people to be warm, accepting and truly welcoming to me and my 3 girls (ages 3,6 and 8).

Pray for God's guidance, and you will find the right place.

Hi R.,

What denomination? We go to Christ Episcopal Church in downtown Raleigh (Edenton Street)and it has been very welcoming. We just joined a year ago in the winter. They have lots of ways to get involved and many "family" things, such as church retreats, "Spring Fling" etc. They also have a wonderful Cherub Choir for K-2nd graders, with dinner every Wednesday night. They have a good Sunday School and also a preschool. The 9 am service is centered around families and children come to the services "Family Church" and the 11 am service is more formal. If you are not Episcopalian you have to take a short class to join though so you will know about the church, just once a week for a few weeks. Let me know if you need more info.

If you're willing to try Wake Forest, there are some awesome churches there. I attend Richland Creek Community Church which has a wonderful children's ministry - it's amazing! The people there love the Lord and love to reach out to the community. The 8:30 and 9:45 are a traditional/contemporary mix; and the 11:00 is contemporary. There are children's Bible classes the first and third service and a special children's worship with music, puppets, games and a message at 9:45.

My nephew's family attends a really neat contemporary church that meets at the movie theater in Wake Forest - Lifepointe. Also, the Well Coffee House holds a church service in their building on Sundays - young and contemporary. I don't know much about that one though. However, I would recommend any of these! God will lead you to the right place!

It would be easier if we knew where exactly in Raleigh (it's a big place) and what churches you have already visited -- but here are two I've been to. St. Francis Assisi Catholic Church on Leesville Rd. It's a huge church but the folks are warm and inviting.

Lifepointe Church is a church of Christ-followers that meets in 2 different movie theatres. One in Six Forks and one in Wakefield. They do a lot of live modern christian music. Their message is bibical yet relevant and they have great programs for children your age!
