Locations for Christening Party - Plainfield

I am looking for suggestions on a good place to host a Christening party. We were thinking of having it at our association clubhouse, but the hours aren't working out right. We just want a nice place that is cheap to rent out, and that we can bring our own food and decorations to. Does anyone have any suggestions? The christening will take place at St Mary's near Route 59 and Renwick in Plainfield, so any place near there would be ideal.

What can I do next?

Check your local park district...many now offer community centers and or banquet facilities that you can rent until about midnight. Also the facilities are often very nice because there is a fully functional kitchen with nice commercial equipment.

It might be too far, but we had my son's christening party at the Gladys Fox Museum on 9th St. (159th St.) in Lockport. It is an old church that has been changed into a meeting hall/museum. It was very nice and inexpensive. We had is cattered by Cutting Edge Catering. The food was great and inexpensive as well. You can find the number for the Fox the Lockport Park District, and the catering company at Cuttingedgecatering.com. The catering company is not associated with the museum so wherever you choose, you should check out the catering company.

What about the legion hall that's on renwick and river?! I haven't been there, nor have much information, but it's REALLY close! And I know they rent it out!

If the weather holds up for you, I really like the Village Green Park in downtown P.. There is a huge pavillion with picnic tables. When I am there to play with my son, there are often parties going on in the pavillion. There are bathrooms there, too. I don't know if there is some kind of reservation process or if it's just first come first serve. You would have to contact the park district to make sure.
