Leather Recliner with No Feet Support

Here's my problem. My husband is 6 ft and I am 5 ft 1". He can sit comfortably on our leather recliners with feet touching the ground, when the recliner is in the erect position. I have to sit with my feet dangling and no ground support. Most of the women guests we have sit on the edge of the couch so that their feet can touch the ground. I have 18" toss pillows on the sofa but they do not help in gaining ground support for the feet.

Any suggestions?

By the way, we got the recliners with that slight backward incline (even in the erect position) as we have a TV mounted above our tall fireplace mantel

What can I do next?

you need to choose "his & hers" furniture. Adapting for each other's needs just doesn't cut it....

& it's a killer for a taller person to scrunch his legs up to accommodate a shorty!

most people i know have his and hers. he picks out his, she picks out hers. there isn't going to be one chair that fits you both.

Get an ottoman.

It can be leather, fabric.

They have all kinds at different places (furniture stores, Wal-Mart, Target)

I'm 5'2 my husband is 6'2. Never have I ever thought about getting his and her furniture? The first couch/ loveseat we bought was before kids. We looked everywhere. He wanted a comfy couch that he could take a nap on and I was looking for style and comfort.

I have never sat on a couch (where my back is touching & im sitting straight) and have had my feet touch the floor. I also usually sit on the edge of people's couches/ chairs so that my feet touch the floor. Most times I wouldn't be comfortable, even with my shoes off, with curling my feet up on the couch.

An ottoman is the answer. We have two. They are on casters so that they can be moved out of the way if we are not using them or using them for extra seating. You can find ottomans everywhere. You can get a leather one to match or a fabric one with color to bring another texture/ color into your space.

My motto is "never buy a sofa/chair/etc. where my feet can't touch the floor"!
It has served me well. The most comfortable seats are ones where your feet touch. Hate that "dangling" feeling.

I'm also 5'1".
It's easier for a taller person to sit in a seat made for shorties, don't you think?
