I used to work in that industry until I was laid off recently. It does work but you have to go to a place that has lasers bought within the last 2 years. If they're new, you should only need about 6 treatments. Old lasers, or old technology, will require you to go up to 12 times. Do NOT waste your money on a place that requires you to go that many times. It's certainly not comfortable but it's not super painful either. And there are some places that will offer a guarantee also. Such as if you have new hair growth after you've completed your sessions, they will re-zap you for free for so many years following your treatments. Ask about it and get it in writting. If a place won't offer it, I wouldn't go there. That market is in a terrible position so use it to your advantage. I want to say American Laser Centers (I did not work there) has a guarantee and I know somewhere else does too but I honestly can't remember anymore. It really does work though. You will be hair free after several months. You're better off waiting until the fall though. You can't have a tan, not even a fake tan.

Laser is painful and doesn't work until all the hair follicles are deadened. I went for over a year, every month. I finally gave up. It's a crock and not worth it. By the way, my daughter has gone for over 2 years and still hasn't finished. She's fair haired and it should have worked by 6 months.

It takes about 4 treatments and it hurts but I thought it was worth it.

I went to Pure. They have locations in Lincoln Park and in Skokie. I didn't do bikini but full leg and underarm. I wish I had done it so much sooner instead of spending so many years and so much money on waxing and electrolysis. Highly recommend doing it. I hardly ever need to shave. The hair grows in so fine that even if you have stubble, it's hardly noticeable (and I have fair skin and dark pores!). One consideration though, you can't do it if you are pregnant so keep that in mind!

Hi, I went 10 or 11 times to clean up the bikini area. I am really happy with the results. This was 5 years ago. I am thinking to go again to catch an area that sort of came back. I also had my legs done a couple times and still can tell the results.

I had it done on my bikini area and underarms, and it was totally useless. It hurt a lot. I think I had 6-7 sessions. Now, 2 years later, you can't even tell that I ever had it. Back to the razors and the shaving as much as I ever did before.
