I just signed my 15 month old up for Kindermusik. My nephews both went when they were small, and my sister says it is wonderful. Just wondering if anyone else has been and if it was beneficial?

What can I do next?

When my oldest was in pre-school, there was a mobile Kindermusic program that came to his school once a week. For a small fee, he could take part in the program in addition to his normal schooling. He absolutly loved the program. He learned so much about music and rhythm, and he stil carries that information with him now that he is 8.
I think it is a great program for young kids, I now have a younger son that stays home with me during the day, I have taken some of the things my oldest taught me from his Kindermusic program and have been using them with the youngest. Thanks to songs we knew or have made up, my 2 year old can tell you all of the basic shapes and colors. He is able to count to 8, sing his ABC's through to L, and can also say some Spanish words. Music is a great way to teach children and in my opinion this program is great for both children and parents.

We love Kindermusik. My son will be 6 in a few days. He started taking the Village class when he was a baby and took all the way through Our Time (3.5-4 years). Anne Hendrix was his teacher she is wonderful!! He also took 1 semester at preschool with a different teacher (the Imagine That class) but they didn't have enough people sign up for the 2nd semester.

My daughter will be 4 next month and she has taken since she was about 4 or 5 months old. She loves it. She is in the Imagine That class now. Anne Hendrix has been her teacher all the way through.

Good luck!

I have never heard of it, but anything to do with music is said to do great stimulation for little ones growing minds.

I had my daughter in the class last spring. She was also 15 months at the time. She learned A LOT. She still picks up the books and toys and remembered what she learned. At that age, she didn't follow directions all that well..but i was surprised at what she picked up and retained.

It is not the most fun for the mom...but it is fun watching your child learn new things and engage in some of the class.

I began taking my son when he was 3 months old. He loved it. We've been unable to take this semester, but it really is beneficial. It's great bonding time and it really stimulates their senses. It also helps them get used to being around other children their age. The teacher is terrific if you're going through April Itson. It's lots of fun and it teaches both of you many new things.

I did Kindermusik when my daughter was 13 months old. It was a lot of fun....I met some neat moms. It was an aerobic workout for me. Your daughter will love the music.....it is what calmed her when she did not want to get in her car seat. Although I enjoyed the program, it emphasized what we were already doing at home. We often play music for our girls (I have a 6 year old daughter, too). Kindermusik taught me the beneifits of playing and movement to music at any age.
