JFF: What Is the Last Restaurant You Went Out to Eat At?

My family and the neighbours went out for dinner last night to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary (Our anniversary was last weekend, but I had a stomach flu). We don't go out for dinner very often, so it was a treat. We went to Red Lobster for the Neverending Shrimp special (We actually go for the Neverending Shrimp every year to celebrate our anniversary). So when is the last time your family went out to dinner, and what restaurant did you go to?

What can I do next?

We went to Tuk Tuk here in Portland for some out-of-this-world delicious Vietnamese food last night on a date. Oh my heavens... my only regret is that I didn't start going there sooner!

As for family dinner-- the pizza place up the street,American Dream Pizza, on Friday night. We usually go get slices there about once a week. It's close, something fun, and they know us. Not the best pizza in the world, but it is good, and not having to drive makes it taste that much better!

Hmmm.... Does the little no-name cuban place with no seating off 45th count? (DIVINE food. I'm sitting here with my mouth watering just thinking about it).

If not... then last summer... a cheesecake place in New York was the last time with my family, family.

Aside from that, we go to dim sum once a month as an extended family.

We went out last night. I didn't know it at the time, but husband had arranged to have some family and friends meet us for dinner as an early birthday surprise. The kids knew, but played their part in the surprise beautifully. I had no idea until we were taken to the table, where everyone else was already seated.

Cross Creek. It is a local BarBQ place in a nearby city where we have some family and friends. They have excellent seafood as well. It was yummy. And fun!

We go out to eat a lot. Friday lunch was our last outing and it was with clients at the Country Club.

Our regulars are...
Our Country Club (GREAT food) Lunch and/or Dinner spot
Maggianos Italian... mostly dinner
Ruth Chris Steak... mostly dinner
Pappadeaux ... lunch and/or dinner spot
PF Chang's.. lunch and/or dinner spot
There are a couple of family owned Italian places around that we frequent as well.

Some favorites we go to when celebrating a big occasion or just splurging on the night would be...

Del Frisco's Steak House in Dallas.. LOVE this place
III Forks Steak House in Dallas... LOVE this place too.

Hubby and I went out to eat at a nice Italian place right by our house. It was so quiet! I ate slowly and enjoyed bringing home half my meal. I got to eat more than one roll and not have to fuss with anyone about snatching my food...lol.

It was the oddest date ever!!!!

I hated spending the $25 for something like this but it was soooo worth it mentally.

Happy Anniversary!

My son and I went to breakfast this morning to a local place we love, Joe's Family Restaurant. We go almost every Sunday, and usually my husband and youngest son go, too, but they were golfing this morning. It was kind of a nice change having my oldest son all to myself today. :)

Happy anniversary! That's a long time!
The last time we went out to eat as a family, we went to Skull Creek Boathouse on the island. It's listed in the top 10 bar/restaurants in the country. We think the food is good--not the best I've ever eaten, but good. But the rest of the experience makes it worthwhile. If you don't make a reservation, the wait is LONG on a weekend but there are bounce houses, games, etc for the kids to play in while the parents can either play games too, or watch the sailboats, dolphins, and sunset. There's good music (not too loud, which is nice), and the food is great when you get seated.
But last night, we did something completely unheard of. Not a habit, but a first time since having kids kind of thing: we were all feeling lazy and "blah"....we had plans to go to the beach and get take out from a place we like near there but the weather was gross and we couldn't go to the beach. We actually took orders: the kids wanted pizza so we phoned Pizza Hut, I wanted a spanikopita, salad, and souvlaki so we phoned The Greek Table, and hubby wanted a red curry with beef, extra hot, so we phoned Ruan Thai. I went to all 3 locations (after stopping first at Blockbuster for a family film), brought it all home, and we threw a beach towel over the coffee table and had a picnic in the living room while watching a movie! That was different, so it was fun. We have a pretty strict eating as a family at the table rule, but last night, we just said what the heck.....for that night. And since I had the night off last night, today I'm making a phyllo chicken pie that is awesome, scampi salad, and some rice cooked with chicken broth and herbs.

We went to Olive Garden with my son and his best friend's family a few days before the boys went off to college.
Our boys love Red Lobster, so that is our usual location for celebrations.
Our youngest is in Kansas City. We have found a restaurant there we love called The Thai Place. I am sure we will go there when we visit him on Parent's Day. Kansas City has lots of great restaurants we have discovered!

as a entire family? gosh its been over a year. It was Bombay Bistro in downtown Minneapolis. Upscale, Indian place where both my daughters pitched a fit cause their Paneer was too spicy, and my son was only one and screamed about being in the car seat thing. So since then we have not been out together. Just dates with our oldest daughter, never together.

My husband and I love trying new restaurants out all the time...
We live in them...lol the spot that we have been hitting up frequently is
(yia yia Mary's )... It's here in houston tx... They have great Greek food!
We use to also go to buca di beppo all the time... But, we are pretty much done with that one....lol ( eat there way too many times). I think it's good to try new places out... ( spontaneity is great! ) I think it keeps a marriage healthy, and strong.

Anthony's for dessert with a girlfriend, no kids. We sat out on the terrace with a view of the river. Beautiful evening. And we ordered Peach slumps - their summer special cobbler topped with ice cream.

The waitress brought us ladies one dessert with 2 spoons to share. My girlfriend and I both piped up, "Oh no, we ordered 2 of those, we're not sharing!!!" Are you kidding, girls night out with no kids, you better believe I'm going to eat a whole dessert myself!

We went out as a family this morning for breakfast to 'The Old European' and it was great! I am pretty sure breakfast is my favorite meal therefor my favorite meal to eat out.

All 4 of our boys + my Mother have birthdays in October and we always do a birthday dinner out on your actual day...so I will be having LOTS of meals out then. I secretly hope the older boys pick Sushi (the will be 21y/o's favorite) and The Melting Pot (the will be 18y/o's favorite) cause that all sounds so yummy!

Great...now I am hungry!
