I need something fun to think about today. We're going to be carving pumpkins this weekend so to be in the mood I'm going to be making a Pumpkin Dump Cake. Never made it before but I hope it turns out really yummy! I usually make an Apple Dump cake so I guess we'll have to see how it goes!

I like to make pumpkin bread and pumpkin cookies. This is also the time of year that I make chili and homemade Mac and cheese!
sweet potato home fries, with carmelized onions, drizzled with maple syrup. maybe it doesn't scream autumn, but hey its orange and kind of starchy and kind of savory and kind of sweet and oh so good.

Apple tart with a few apples from the annual Apple Festival.
Oatmeal walnut raisin cookies.
And for the grown-ups, good pumpkin beers or hot toddies.
My favorite treat when autumn/winter rolls around is Crispix Mix. It's like Chex Mix, but better because Crispix is made only with corn and rice. No nasty wheat chex. I double the seasoning/butter/sauce, nuts, and pretzel sticks. So yummy. :-)
