Itchy and Pink Nipples

Certain bras that i own will cause me itching in that area.

Sometimes it can be that you are using too much laundry soap and it is irritaing the skin. I never realized how much laundry soap stays in washed clothes, until we had a spa with a super jet. When we wore (clean) bathing suits , it caused soap bubble buildup galore (PILES OF BUBBLES) in the spa.

Tea tree oil is what I use for yeast/itch issues on skin. Swab it twice a day.

If it is not gotten somewhat better by a few days with tea tree oil, I would go to the docotr. There is a form of breast cancer that presents as a rash on nipples or breast skin. (google it).

I would suggest using Head and Shoulders shampoo on them once a day followed by some all natural Aloe Vera gel. Try leaving the shampoo on for a few minutes before rising and use the regular shampoo and not the 2 in 1 plus conditioner. This stuff works for seborrheic dermatitis, fungal or yeast issues. Works great and it's cheap without a doctor's visit.

and open one in your hand and dust on the area.

it may just be dry skin. my nipples get like that sometimes in the winter due to the dry air. also, did you switch laundry detergents, it may be irritating you.
good luck and i would take a pregnancy test just in case cause there are people that still get their period when they are pregnant, especially if you are on some type of birth control

sounds like a yeast infection/thrush on the nipple. Get some monistat and put it on your breasts if it doesn't go away after a day or two, call your dr. Good luck!

could be dry skin from the winter air, hot showers, soap drying things out. Also, have you changed detergents, new bras? Sometimes companies change the formulas of detergents so even if you haven't changed, the product could have changed without knowing. I'd try some CeraVe (cream in a tub, not the lotion) It works awesome on dry skin and see if that doesn't help. It could be yeast, but I would think contact dermatitis. Hope this helps!

It sounds like a yeast infection to me...not totally common, but they do happen. Do you wear a bra 24 hours a day? I have GF that wears her bras to bed and ends up getting yeast infections on her nipples about once every three months.

I would talk to your OB/GYN and see if they have an ointment that you can apply to your nipples.

It could be the cold weather..... We've been getting dry itchy skin ALL over....... (My poor husband in places he'd rather not mention) I wouldn't rule out the yeast infection though........... Maybe take a probiotic to be sure?

This happens to me every so often and it just goes away on its own. I never needed a special ointment or anything. It usually lasts 2-3 days for me and then just dissapears as mysteriously as it came. Not saying you dont have a yeast infection, just something that comes and goes with me.
