Is It Worth Stopping at Braum's on Our Next Trip to Texas?

We have driven to Texas about four times now and each time I have seen Braum's. Is it a good place to eat lunch, or only a good place for ice cream? What type of food do the serve? One more question, our daughter hates hamburgers and hot dogs, is there anything there she would like?

What can I do next?

I have lived in Texas my whole life, and my family loves Braum's. I think they're always dirty though, and it doesn't matter which Braum's I go to; they're all dirty - all of them I've ever been to. I won't eat at them anymore. They're too gross.

I like Braums. I think their burgers have a good flavor and I love their fries. They are a thick crinkle cut frie, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My kids always get the chicken strips. The ice cream is great too. I do not like their burgers with cheese because the cheese is too thick I think it takes the flavor from the rest of the burger. I think the reason why Braum's stores look "dirty" is becuase they are kinda out dated on the inside. I don't think they have had an upgrade in some time, if ever. However, as someone suggested earlier, if you go by a Whataburger I would hands down take a burger from them over Braums.

I don't think Braums is any different then any other local fast food burger. It's really not that good. I guess their burgers are OK. Their french fries are gross, in my opinion. I mean, you do know it's just a fast food burger, right? Their milk is very good, like mentioned below. It's better then the grocery store. Their ice cream...is ice cream. We have one literally 2 minutes down the street from us. I eat there every few years, probably. I have done that since a kid, nothing to write home about. Honestly, I think Whataburger is better.

They do the general burgers and fries, better than average. The ice cream is also good. Mostly what I go to Braums for is the milk, which is better than the grocery store's.

Braum's rocks for both burgers and ice cream. Best shakes in town! Yes, they have chicken stuff too. Stop and give it a try!

We don't live too far from one. The burgers are good and daughter llikes the chicken strips.

We hardly ever eat there because they don't appear clean to me. It must be a Braum's region thing because Angela just said the same thing and she is in the DFW area as well.

You hardly ever see people in there eating. BUT.... I do buy their ice cream. We love the ice cream and that is my go to spot to stock up.

There are far better places to stop at in Texas. Braums isn't bad by any means, I guess it just seems weird living here and hearing someone say they want to eat there. :)
Sorta like someone coming to your town and wanting to eat at MI Ranchitos?

My husband and kiddos LOVE Braum's. We rarely eat the regular food there but the burgers aren't terrible, the fries are your basic crinkle cut. The ice cream is delicious and they have lots of variety in flavor. They can make you delicious sundaes and mixes (like a Dairy Queen Blizzard). Everyone is right though, I don't think they are as sparkly as I would like but we still go there at least once a month (I'm always counting WW points so I have to put my foot down about going there too often! LOL)

Try it once, if you don't like it, then you know but I have a feeling you might enjoy their sweet treats. The one in my town is always busy when we go :-)

We have approx 4 new braums close by us. We go there regularly for both food and ice cream. Lots of them are older, but lots are new and clean as well. They also have a mini grocery store in them:)

You've seen Braum's and never stopped for great ice cream?!?!?!?! Lol
I would say, "Yes, stop!" Google their menu and see what they have to offere and if not plan on stopping in before or after. And you could always pack something for your daughter to eat. Let us know when you stop.

We liked the food. I believe my daughter had chicken. It reminds me a little bit of Culver's style food. We were pleased with our experience and will definately stop again.

When we lived in OK, people loved that place. I thought it was a little better than DQ food. I wouldn't go out of your way, but it would be a good place to stop if it were on the way.

Here is a link to the menu:

I just saw that you live in Olathe (we are in Leavenworth). I would compare it to Fritz' Train Restaurant (at Crown Center and in Shawnee).

Ummm, yeah. Braum's farms are not too far from my home and I love eating there and having ice cream there too. Several of my friends have worked for them milking cows. WOW, the bruises they got! Braum's on South Western was my first job. It's gone now but I certainly enjoyed eating my paycheck in food.

The food is made fresh and it's more like an old fashioned diner than a fast food restaurant. They cook the meat and toast the buns. They have other foods too. I love the crinkle cut fries, they're soft and salty and yummy!

The ice cream is good, I like peppermint, cookies and cream, chocolate, the strawberry topping on a banana split is totally scrumptious! I love the toasted pecans on a hot fudge sundae and will often order extra of them.

A lot of my friends only buy Braum's milk because the way it's make retains a lot more fullness of flavor but it has less fat in it than other brands of the same value....like 2% milk is totally creamy and tastes great but it's still just 2%....that's what I was trying to say...

I think it's worth the time. If you like burgers and fries alongside a freshly made malt or shake then Braum's is a great place to stop and enjoy.
