Is Elefun Worth It?

I bought my kids the game Elefun at a rummage sale for Christmas. They love it but the motor seems to be already on the out. I don't know how old it is since I bought it used. I'm considering buying them a new one but I was wondering if the problem I'm having with the fan is common with the game. Does anyone have a review of the game they'd like to post? How long has yours lasted?
Thanks!

Buy two sets of rechargable batteries and a charger. Always keep one set charged. It only takes 15 mins to recharge the dead set. If the kids love it that much - it might be worth it. Plus you can always use the batteries and charger for other things.

I was thinking about getting it myself.

Thanks for asking!

It eats batteries like crazy! So if you can afford the diet it is FUN and my boys play with it every time I have new batteries to put in it.

I got my son one a year ago for Christmas and have had no problems with it. I would find those little butterflies everywhere though! I just recently made new butterflies for it out of tissue paper. My kids love it.

It works fine....as long as you put new batteries in every single time you use it. :( But the kids do love it. I was happy when my daughter outgrew that game.

I don't believe it's worth it. I purchased one in 2005 brand new and it barely worked. My 4 yearold daughter bacame very frustrated with it because the butterflies would come out right. We hardly used it. I tossed it out after a while because she loss interest in it.

Good Luck!

My nephews have had that game for a few years and haven't had an issue with the motor. We actually bought them another for Christmas so they could keep one at each parents' house, that's how much they love it!

Hello - I know of two experiences with Elefun and both were the same; the game works best with fresh batteries so that there is enough "juice" for the motor to work at it's prime to push the butterflies up that long trunk....however, the juice gets used very quickly so the game doesn't last very long without newer batteries. If their is not enough juice, the air doesn't blow up the trunk or push the butterflies out. It is a great concept in a game, just too bad they couldn't have come up with some type of fan without batteries. Hope that helps.

My son got that game from his Aunt for Christman. I know my nephew and neice love it but his flat out sucks. I switched the batteries out so many times (diff. pkgs. of new batteries) and I could not get the butterflies to come out at all. For the cost of a new game I am so dissapointed. I guess like other people said if you can afford the batteries all the time, you're OK. Maybe we just got an off one...

I've seen the therapists use this game at Children's Hospital to help kids with coordination. I think it's a lovely game. Don't know how enduring it is, though.
