The Gray Moss inn is very romantic and fairly close.

Fredericksburg!!!! I took my husband there for our 1st ann. There are bed and breakfasts that are actually small houses. So you aren't in someones house sharing bathrooms and all that. I used this website. they give you pics and anyother information. It is such a nice town to walk around in, especially that time of year. If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me. There's a couple of bed and breakfast in Gruene, TX with rooms right by the river... and it's close to San Antonio. You can have dinner at Grist Mill Restaurant and they have tables indoors or outdoors over looking the river. There's a tea room restaurant also that's small,intimate,homey with great food; a little pricey but your anniversary is a special event.

All of the suggestions you have received are Wonderful... I was going to suggest Fredericksburg. It's a really nice place to visit and very romantic.

We only had Grandma to visit for the duration of dinner, not an overnighter. However we had a great dinner timed at sunset at the Westin La Cantera Resort. If you wanted to go to dinner there and get a room for afterwards, there looked like there was plenty of fun things for the two of you to do and still remain within the San Antonio area.

Just a FYI, being at the grounds of the Westin, I didn't feel like I was in San Antonio anymore. It does feel like a resort up there on the hill.

I'm not sure where you are but there are some very romantic bed and breakfasts in Fredricksburg.

Less than 2 hours? Wimberly or Fredericksburg

Within a 2 hour drive, I would rent a sail boat on Lake Travis. If you don't sail, anywhere on the River Walk would be great. The Omni is beautiful, ask for their presidential suite. Many times you can get it at a discounted rate if it is not being used anyway. Tell them it is your anniversary. Congrats!
