Troy is getting me a Kindle for Christmas. No he is a nice guy, I get it when it ships but it doesn't come out until the 21st of November!!! I can't stand the wait!!

Does anyone else get their Christmas presents ahead of time?

Of course the kids don't but we adults, it just seems silly to wait.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I am getting the Kindle touch because I want it for reading in the car. I can review the Kindle fire but not until Christmas because that one is going to Genna. I will get that kid to love reading or die trying!!!!!

Not getting rid of books!! Troy is making me built in shelves for all of our books. One of his many talents is carpentry. I just want to take some with me. We love to read hopefully now it will be easier to read everywhere. :)

Nope, my dh made me wait until Christmas last year to get my Nook Color. He tortured me with the box by wrapping it and putting on my dresser until it was time to put it under the tree,LOL.

I have the Kindle (old fashioned one) and it is awesome. I resisted for a long time but it is wonderful and you will love it.

We bought my MIL the Kindle Fire for Christmas - I hope it ships in time.

I do not do early gift giving - period. We got a Wii a few years ago from my Mom and it arrived right after Thanksgiving - I made my husband put it away int the closet until Christmas morning - but I love the surprise of Christmas and the excitement of new stuff...if we had opened it early it would have been old hat by Christmas morning...what fun is that?

I hope you love it. My husband is considering the Kindle Fire too. Please do tell us all about it when you get it! :) I like my tablet fine. I can't wait until my husband doesn't come looking for it LOL

Yay! I love my Kindle, you are going to LOVE it!...but no we don't usually wait to open presents. We like to have at least one (which is usually all there is) to open so the kids see us open something too.

No we always wait. Because if he were to get something early for me, then he would have to get something else for Chrstmas morning. He is a gift giver.

This year I want the freestanding cd/tape/record player player/recorder. I might actually be able to play my old lp's.

The only big gift like that we didn't wait to open, was when we moved into this house 6 years ago, and I bought us a 42" TV for the bedroom. I got a super deal on it like the first week of December, and I just brought it home and we took it out and set it up in the bedroom. There was no way I was leaving that sitting "under the tree". Plus, if there had been a problem, then I wanted to get it resolved immediately, rather than during the "after Christmas rush" of returns.
I feel ya on the Kindle though. Love mine!! There IS something about turning actual pages of a book, but the convenience of having MULTIPLE books when you are traveling is fabulous! I finished the book I was reading on day 2 of our summer vacation in the mountains, in a cabin, in the bathroom at 2:00 a.m. The cabin had wi-fi. So I just went ahead and bought the next book in the series and started reading! :)

I love my Kindle...and I would. But is stil love the feel of a book in my hands too. Traveling with a Kindle is so much easier. I bought one of those sticky sets (goes on the outside of the Kindle) cause it gets banged around in my purse...I broke the light on my $60 kindle cover and now it's worthless. One of these days I will replace that but...ENJOY!

No we don't do early presents...That's probably why I don't do much shopping until the last few weeks before Christmas cause I can't stand the wait!

That is great JoW! And brave of you...my hsuband wants to me to get one so we can get rid of my collection of books, but I'm too scared to let them go.

The good thing about being a grown up is that we don't HAVE to wait to open our presents :)

I WANT MY KINDLE TOO!! ;)

Maybe he could buy it for you because it's Tuesday :)

No, we don't open presents early, because Rob and I usually only get 1 thing for each other 'from Santa', and the kids would question why Santa didn't get us anything, LOL!!

LOVE my Kindle and ordered my 8 year old the Kindle Fire for Christmas. Last year I got my refrigerator for Christmas...it was delivered on December 14th, so that's when I got it :).

I think it's important for our kids to see us open gifts on Christmas mornings, so we try to wait. But the waiting is silly if the kids don't love to see you open them!
