Ok moms I have a question for yall. I started taking loestrin 24 after I had my second child. I had a period every month for four months then they just stopped. I still continued to take them anyway and just thought I was one of the lucky ones that dont have to have one any more. Well after about 3 more months of not haveing it I bought a prego test just to check, Negative.. So my husband was like just stop taking them for a month and see how you feel and maybe then you will start. Still nothing and I havent taken them in a month. Im not pregnant , has anyone else expirienced this and how long does it take your body to get back to normal? thank you

time to go to the doc. missing periods is your bodys way of saying something isnt right. at least call the nurse and ask her.

I have taken Loestrin 24 for almost 2 yrs. I had a period the first 2 months and haven't had another since. After 2 missed periods and a negative pregnancy test I called my Dr. They said this is completely normal and that means I am taking the meds correctly. This medication is designed to do this. There is less build up of the lining every month. They said when my body has built up enough lining I will have a period. I would talk to your Dr. before restarting the meds. Hope this helps.

Loestrin is designed to do that so nothing is wrong with you. Be very careful though if you do not want to get pregnant. You better start taking them again or use some other form of protection b/c you will get pregnant. Talk to your doctor if you do not like not having a period monthly and you can take a different type of pill.
I got pregnant while on this pill 7 years ago and have a beautiful six year old princess! =)

This is what Loestrin 24 is designed to do. You most likely won't have a period. If that is concerning to you, then you should switch to a 28 day type pill to see the withdrawal bleed every month.

The side effects listed for this product state that you MAY miss a period, but that you should tell your doctor if you do.

Were you feeling bad? I'm not sure why you stopped taking them...many women miss periods when on the pill.

Have you repeated the pregnancy test? It is rare, but they are occasionally defective and BCP can interfere with their efficacy.

Your doctor is likely going to want to test you before you start up again.

I haven't been on hormonal BCP for many years, but it took nearly a year for the side effects to normalizr and it was nearly that long for my cycles to get back to normal after stopping.

I take Loestrin also and hardly ever have a period. At times I have breakthrough bleeding during week two, but when I am supposed to have a period it never comes. I wouldn't stress about it, but if you don't like not having a period I would talk with your MD about getting on something different.
