My md wanted me to try bcontrol for my bad ovulation issues I have been putting off for a long time because I am sooo nervous to go on them. Never have been on in my life and I had my tubes tied after my 3rd child so it is not for bcontrol reasons I am starting the pill because of my very very bad ovulation pains, moodiness and pms issues monthly. I am very nervous of side effects but I want to give it a try and see if it helps for at least 3mths. Have you been on this pill and did it work for you?
thanks

I have been on Loestrin FE for a year now & I love it. I used to have heavier periods but now I have a light period for 2-3 days, It is great! I have been on other birth controls & have had alot of side effects, but with Loestrin the only thing that I get is some mild cramps occasionally, not every month though and usually only for day. I definatly recommend it!

Hi D.. I was on Loestrin 24 FE between pregnancy as a BC method and it worked well. Everyone is different and can have different effects but give it a try (use it for a few months before asking your OBGYN to try something different as it might take a few cycles for your body to adjust). Obviously if it's causing any concerns or you don't feel well, discuss it with your doctor ASAP. But it worked well for me (I didn't get pregnant until I stopped using it). Good luck!

hi. I was on Loestrin and although it didn't give me any pains or bad moods, my period was very irregular on this pill. I also spotted a lot, which was unusual for me. Before that, I was on Femcon, and had a very regular period on that pill (would get my period every four weeks exactly on the same day around the same time), so I switched back to Femcon and it is working better for me. No pains and no mood swings, and a regular period.

I tried it for 2 months, but at $50 each month (with insurance!) it was too expensive. It was great to have 2-3 day periods though.

I use it and have not had any problems but my period is light and does not always come on the same days. I would want to know what the cause of this problem is rather than just taking a pill and hoping it goes away. What is causing your ovulation pains. Have your tubes etc been checked for blockages, fibroids, endo etc.? After all possibilities have been ruled out you might want to consider lifestyle changes instead of the bcp.

Hi D.:

I understand your concern. There are many health factors involved with taking birth control. It is best to do some research. You can achieve great positive results with diet change, enzymes, aromatherapy and other natural wellness options. I always recommend researching all options.

Hi, I actually just stopped using Loestrin 24 FE in mid December. I liked it a lot the first 6 months I was using it, then I stopped getting my period out of the blue. Still trying to work that part out and find out why, if I'm pregnant or if its just that this pill doesn't make you build up much to shed each month. But I did not have any side effects with this pill and I had a shorter period the first six months I had it. It might be a nice one to start out with, but everyone is different and I guess there always is a possibility to have some side effects.
