I Need a Handyman!

I have some small projects I need done around the house. I work Full-time and my husband stays home with our 4 month old daughter.

We, obviously, don't have alot of extra money. Neither husband not I are very handy. Any suggestions on how to find a good handyman that will do a good job but will not over-charge us? It would be nice if we could find someone who has a job but does small jobs on the side for extra cash. Any suggestions? Or know anyone in the Cottage Grove Area?

What can I do next?

Get multiple bids, do you research on each and every "handyman" ask for references, and I would even go so far as to "google" them. When it comes to jobs in the home, personal referalls are always the best. Talk to friends who have had work done and ask who did it. I know of too many people who have been screwed by people that they didn't do their research on.
Good luck.

My husband does do jobs on the side for family and friends and is very reasonable. We are actually right next door in Newport. If you are interested let me know and if you can give me a list of things you need done he could let me know what he can help you with.

Do NOT call Integrity Works Construction. My uncle owns it and my husband works for him, and he is a liar, a cheat, and a theif. I recommend you get one or two estimates. Also, sign a contract and hold your handyman to what he agreed on originally.

There is a really nice handy man in my neighborhood (in Apple Valley). We live in a detached town home; and he helps out many of the families.
His name is Gary Johnson ###-###-####. He has been in construction for 40 years and is slow now due to the housing slow down.
Good luck!

Hi Marla,

Finding a good handyman can be rather difficult. My husband and I own a construction business based out of Maplewood. He's rather handy and has been doing a lot of handyman jobs the past few months. We have an add placed on this website, but feel free to call him at ###-###-####. You'll find that he's very honest, dependable, and hard working. Just what you need!
