I agree with the first response, could be some kind of tumor or a cyst but checking it out immediatelyis the best way to deal with what is probably nothing to worry about. Most things can be treated now but if you wait, that may not be the case and your kids cannot afford for you to not address the situation immediately. Wish I could give you a big hug through the computer, hope you are otherwise holding up okay.

I would have the Dr. check it just to be on the safe side.

I have a lump on the back of my knee that will swell up to the size of a small egg if I am on my feet a lot, etc and hurt. Turns out it is a baker's cyst and best to leave it alone, per the Dr. The scarring to remove or drain would not be worth it because it is the end result of some type of knee injury and would probably re-appear. I have some lidocaine patches that I will put on it when it is really bad.

Just check it and monitor it regularly.

PS. Leanne is right..... I totally forgot about a limpoma (sp) I had about the size of a walnut right where my low rise jeans hit. No pain but you could see it. I opted to remove it last June. Dr Russell Sparenger took it out. I did not want to go to outpatient and he did it in his office with local and my Hubby right there watching. Tmi but it looked like he was picking some fat ( like you see on chicken before you prepare it) out. You can not see the scar hardley at all thanks to vitamin e oil.

I would guess--Vericose vein---but as the other mama said it could be any thing. I reccomend your family doctor---now!!
With all the other things you are dealing with, you don't need to be worrying about this! Check it our and get it over with. God bless you and your family.

Okay, not to scare you, but go to a dermatologist. It could be nothing or it could be something and how quickly you go could make a difference if it is something. My mother had a small tumor that was benign removed in her leg when I was young. Cysts are a possibility too, but you need to be sure. Don't fool with it on your own. See a doctor.

I have a grape in a similar area that I have had since I was 15. My doc then said it was probably nothing and to watch it - if it changed in size, have it removed. Almost 15 years later, it's still there.

No stress. :) See the doc.

I have several of those. Mine started out pea size and have become half-grapes. I feel new ones coming up on teh inside of my forearm and on the front of my thighs. They don't hurt at all. They are called lipomas, and they are just fatty tissue. I inherited them from my dad and grandfather who both had them. My family practitioner and my determatologist have both said they're harmless.
Have yours checked out. If they are lipomas, they aren't harmless but you can have them removed if they bother you.
