Totally out of brain dead curiosity: When you sit here looking at mamapedia, how many tabs do keep open in your internet browser? Are you a 100-things-going-on-at-a-time kind of gal, or do you go methodically from one thing to the next?
I know, deep question huh? ;-)

10, or more and a laptop on my side table. Occasionally I mess up, but I am a big time multi tasker
I hate waiting for replies, so I flip flip flip... anyone sitting next to me gets a little dizzy while I do things.
At the moment, I have 3. Facebook, Mamapedia and a site supporting the Fiengold diet studies. Most weekdays, it's usually 4 or 5.
27 open right now. Four forums. Two mailboxes. One radio station. One stop forum spam email and IP lookup site. Three facebook pages. An Etsy page I opened from a link somewhere and want to check out later. Four amazon sites as I clear out and organize my shopping list. This window. Eight other mamapedia tabs that I want to read later.
My style of web surfing is me opening up everything I want to do all at once, then popping to the "head of the queue" and slowly going through each tab until finally they are all closed and I'm done. It's like a firework! A big explosion when I sit down until the embers slowly wink out one by one.
Usually 5 - Facebook, Mamapedia, Gmail, Pogo-scrabble, Pogo-battleship...
And any extras. :)
Usually 8 - 10, currently only 2!! Maybe my fairy came in and cleaned it up for me :)
I have 3-5 open and running until it bogs down my computer then I shutdown to 1 or 2.
The minimum I have open is four. Email, this, wall street journal, and facebook. Doesn't mean I actually read the tab but it is open. Sometimes I am shopping on Amazon so that is another. On here if someone is having a temper tantrum I will open that in another tab so that when it is deleted and then have their second why would that be deleted post I can directly quote them. :p
Right now I have six. Home depot is open, thinking about a rain barrel.
At the least about 3, at the most about 25.
I'm looking up travel options, routes (MapQuest), AAA, etc.
I'm looking up what tree to plant in the front yard (how big does it get, does it grow fast, does it like full sun and sandy/clay soil, etc).
I'm looking up shoes for our trip (shopping).
I'm looking up weather forecast, news, comics, what we're watching on TV, weekend events in our area.
I have NicoleP's style of web surfing. I have my browser set up to automatically open 4 tabs when lauching. Then I add a couple more and go across to each tab checking what I want and moving on.
12 at the moment I am typing this.
15 - sorry, didn't count the one's that opened in a different browser.
ETA - I want a rainbarrel!
I'm normally not on here on the weekends or evenings. So when I'm on during the weekdays and I'm working, I will have 3 or 4 but can't have too many or it runs too slow. =)
I'm a hardcore multi-tasker!
I have difficulty not multi-tasking. I think it must frustrate people at times but no one has said anything yet. :)

Okay, fall quarter, archeology paper due... I was searching for somehting and realized I had over 70 tabs open.
LOVE Safari!!! (The PCs start crashing with fewer than 20 tabs open, the macs just keep going and going).
I often have MP up when I'm watching something on Hulu. Commercial comes on, I'll come read.
Right now, I think I have 5 tabs open on this window. But it really varies. 1-70+
I have 4 open right now, plus a word document open in the background containing a novel that I am in the process of writing. Normally I have 4-7 tabs open, plus the word document. Sometimes I have more, but I never have less than 4.
On my desktop I can have up to 18 if they are not "working" on something like each one doing a different task.
I download gifts for a game at a site and can do up to 12 then the one for the game which is doing stuff too, plus the one for the gift site. On FB I can have FarmTown open on one tab, Gardens of Time on another, the gift request page on my wall, and have the weather radar all going at the same time on the desktop but not on the laptop. I get bored waiting for stuff and go do more than one thing successfully.
For mamapedia I can have more open. Once they download the question they are just sitting there waiting. I can do a whole page of questions on a different tab on the desktop. I can do about 10-15 of them on the laptop. It gets really slow while the questions are loading on the different tabs and does not recover very well. It is fun to type a whole paragraph in a few seconds and then to get a drink or something while the type comes up on the screen.

i almost always have sparkpeople and the weather open. i track my calories and activities on sparkpeople so i like to keep it up cuz i'm too lazy to wait for it to reload, and because i don't have a run-in shed for my horses, always keep a close eye on the weather so i know if i need to bring them in or not. it's less important now that it's warm and the old tbred won't suffer if she gets wet, but it's become habit to check the weather a dozen times a day.
if i'm working on a syllabus i'll have another 2-6 tabs open.
and it's silly how nuts it makes me when my dh gets on the computer, checks something and then closes the browser!
