Hot Air Ballon Rides?

First of all I wonder if it is appropriate for a two and a four year old to go on a hot air balloon ride? (and if hot air balloon companies have a minimum age/size limit). Second, I have seen a hot air balloon taking off from the Dell Diamond parking lot off Hwy 79 but I cannot seem to locate which company to call and ask them about their services (no location near round rock). Does anyone have any information about hot air balloon rides in round rock? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they have an age limit--seems to me I read about that one time when there was a hot-air balloon festival in our area and I think the age limit was at least 12 accompanied by an adult and maybe even older. Personally I would never take children that young on a hot-air balloon ride...what if they just got too scared? There's no easy/quick way to get down!

Save this kind of thing for a date night/day with your hubby/sig. other!

I don't think it would be such a great idea for young children. My husband and I went on one a while ago- and it was definitely not as "romantic" as I was expecting. The hot air is very hot, and loud. And the landing is awful! You have to hold on to the sides and brace yourself for the fall. It just pretty much falls to the ground slowly with quite a big bump! You would have a very hard time holding your children and trying to keep them (and yourself!) safe during the fall.

Instead of giving you a not so helpful answer... here is one from a ballon company. The link below will take you to a place that does it in Austin. On thier FAQ's it says that kids should be 6 so they are tall enough to see over the basket. Good luck in whatever you decide ~ Your the parent!

I would think that insurance requirements may differ for each hot air balloon company.

Check the internet for hot air balloon companies in your area and call ask each one what their requirements are.

I can't imagine small children would want to go in a hot air balloon. Way too scary!! Not to mention they wouldn't even be able to see the scenery only up since they aren't tall enough to see over the sides. Bad idea all the way around in my opinion.
