My boy turns 2 in July. My niece and nephew are coming in for the birthday and want to go to Legoland. Is there anything that a 2yr old can do there?

What can I do next?

Honestly, not a lot, a very small handful of things. There are a lot of rides with height limits and 2 years old don't meet many of them. I would look on their website and look at the limits of the rides and see what's left. We let our passes lapse shortly after having our third child. She's still too little for most of them (she turns 2 in June) and most of them are 2 seaters so my husband can't take both boys at the same time or the oldest gets to ride alone which he hates. I find the lack of shade to sit in when you're stuck waiting for the rest of your party really irritating as well.

The problem at Legoland is not necessarily age, but height. Until your child is at least 36 inches tall, there isn't a lot to do. In my experience, it's especially frustrating for your child if you're with other older (or bigger) kids who are able to go on more rides. It's a pretty expensive theme park for your child to just play at the playgrounds and go on only a couple rides.

I think others have already said this, but the majority of Legoland rides require children to be at least 36" tall. There are a few that allow 34" tall children. There aren't really any rides at all for kids under 34" - literally, I did not take my infant on a single ride when we went there recently (though I knew ahead of time and was going b/c it was with my older son's preschool). A few rides require children to be 4 years old - and they do ask the kids their age when they reach the front of the line.

Anyway, kids of any height can play in the water play area, so if it's a warm day, definitely bring bathing suits or a change of clothes.

There are also playground-type areas that kids of any size can play at. I went when my son was 34" but not yet 36" and we had a good time. It was approximately six weeks after he turned two years old. I don't think it would have been as fun if he'd been under 34" though.

Definitely bring him! There are a bunch of rides that you can go on with him although he is too young to go himself. Plus they have a water play area (bring a change of clothes!). If you go on their website you can see all the rides and attractions and I think they give you info on how old the kids need to be to ride themselves and they should tell you which rides kids can go on with an adult. There is a lot for a 2 year old to see and do. Legoland is my favorite park! It has nice big bathroom stalls so you can get the kids in there with you and it is very clean. There is also an aquarium next door. I recommend paying extra for the preferred parking because you want to be close to the entrance at the end of the day.

Have fun!

yes!!!!!! bring a swim suit they have wet stuff. check out the website for height requirements on rides. My guess is 1/2 the rides will be okay. plus they have multiple play areas-that is my fav part of legoland.

There are a few rides that he can go on with you and there are lots of play areas. I think 2 and under are free which we didn't know and actually paid for our 2 year old (sigh). She had a great time. But keep in mind that will mean you doing your thing with your son and your niece and nephew doing their own thing for a good part of the time. If you go to the Legoland website and look at the attractions, you will see height requirements for the rides.
