I am in desperate need on a new vacuum! It need to have great suction power, edge cleaning and can get up pet hair. It needs to not fall over when you use the wand, and be bagless. It can not cost an arm and a leg, so a Dyson is out of the question. Please..any help is appreciated!
Bissell's "Pet Hair Eraser" - I love it. I have two dogs. I have all hardwood and tile but have several area rugs. My previous vacuum broke and I bought this the same day. It was amazing (and disgusting) how much hair this thing picked up off of a rug that was just vacuumed the same morning. My rugs actually looked newer after my first use of this machine- they got some of their "fluff" back.
I've also heard and seen outstanding demonstrations by the rainbow...but it's around $1200...a little more than most of us can justify spending unless you have carpet in your entire house and never plan on switching to tile/hardwood.
Get a Bissell. That's what I got. Bought it at Target for a little over $100.00 It says for pet hair right on it and works great. You can even disconnect the tank from the base and just use it when using the wand. I love mine...Cat hair, dog hair, human hair all gone in an instant..
Sorry but I have to say that the best vacuum EVER - and by far is the Rainbow. But it DOES cost an arm and leg. If there's any way you can save or ask people in your family not to give you gifts but contribute to your vacuum fund... this is the best in every catagory by far. If you use one for a few days you'll see what I'm talking about.
I recently bought the vacuum from Swifer. It was 34.99 at Bjs. It has great suction power. The only bad things about it is the battery doesnt last that long and it doesnt stand on its own. Other than that its great. It also has attatchement on the bottom to put the cloth that the regualr swifer broom has. Hope this helps.
I have a Dyson and all I can say is that it is worth the investment. It is guaranteed for life, never breaks down, is easy to maneuver and store and is lightweight. It is a Godsend. Big Lots had it on sale for $260 lowest price I've ever seen. Good luck!
I also have the Shark and it's not as good.
I'm going to have to agree with Katherine. Seems like a lot upfront, but it dies EVERYthing. Also has hypo algernic filters. My house is less dusty now and with a lifetime warranty, it's cheaper than buying a $100 vaccum every 2 years. I'm far from rich but I used my tax return a couple years ago to buy my dyson and I'm so glad I did. I have to emply the bin 3 times while vaccumming my house verses once a month with my old vaccum because it really gets that much more stuff.
In the case of a vaccum, you get what you pay for!
My only other suggestion would be to try that new shark vaccum that cane out to compete with dyson that costs much less... Perhaps it really is as good?
