Hi everyone... I am in the midst of taking on the HUGE job of planning my wedding. I have started way early to avoid the BRIDEZILLA syndrome. :) My wedding is in Aug '09 so I have plenty of time. I have been online and spent countless hours talking to vendors that are way to pricey for me. Our total budget left is $7,500 but the site fee, all alcohol, cake, and my dress are already paid for. The total guest count is about 120 and food will be purchased at the site for around $24 pp. I need suggestions for vendors in the Portland/Vancouver area. Preferably ones that you have used personally or have viewed personally. Florist, baker, photographer etc... There are just so many and I can't possibly interview them all. It will eventually all work out but the sooner the better..

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Ended up going with a photographer on Craigs List no answers from the one's suggested, Cupcake Oui! for the cake, and word of mouth for all the rest!

Funny you should ask -- We have been doing some organization, and I just came across my whole folder from my wedding planning. I have no idea if this photographer is around anymore or not, but we got a great deal and fabulous photos. We will be married 13yrs as of 8/19. His name is Antonio Harris (Harris Photography) he was located in N Portland back then. The number I have is ###-###-####. (I hope he is still in the area my aunt used him in 1993, we used him in 1995, and then a friend of mine used him in 1999) He had great rates we bought his maximum package for aprox $700 and got over 100 8x10's in a album (and other stuff), plus we got the negatives too, which meant for pennies we could have additional photos done for parents and such. Now a days I'm sure everything is digital, but he was great.

Our budget was about that for everything, so I think you can definitely do it. We even got comments on how nice our small wedding was.

We used Beaverton Bakery. They were really reasonable, and wonderful cake. They also allow you to get a small cake for each anniversary decorated the same as the one you had for your wedding for a fee of course. I highly recommend going and tasting since that is half the fun.

Our Photographer was Karylee Photography. It was a few years back, but we loved the pictures we got. We got a lot of formal shots, but even the ones that were posed looked natural. If you would like I can send you a link so you can see a number of our pictures. She actually has at least 4 pictures from my wedding up on her site. http://www.karylee.com/wedding.html.

As for flowers we used a florist out in Oregon City. I believe the name was Becky's Flowers. Again very reasonable, but I don't know that it was the think I remembered from my wedding.

The other thing we did that was very cool for our wedding is for favors we did these things called Marvellas. They were shaped as hearts and placed in a cellophane bag. It is kind of like a cookie bar. They were a hit. All we did was tie some ribbon on the bags and put in a Metal container for passing out.

If you want I should have pictures of all of these things, and would be happy to send you anything you need. Just email me at ____@____.com

I also have pictures of the brochures that I made myself. Sounds like you got most of the big things already covered though.

Hope this helps.
