I can;t remember the name of my photographer, but he was with The Pro's, who we found very reasonable price wise and they did it all. Another resource I found wonderful when planning my wedding is Twin City Bridal. They have a directory of most of the wedding vendors in the State and it is free. Just go to twincitybridal.com and request one (actually I think most of the vendors are on line now too!

Laurie Schneider is who we used for our wedding pictures. She was recommended to us by someone from Buttercream Cakes. They gave me the best advice and that was..no matter how beautiful the photographers pictures look in their books and on their website, if you don't feel a connection with that person they can never make you look as good as the pictures they show you. Laurie was very down to earth and reasonable. I think we paid right around $2,000 and that included all the pictures she took in a nice photo box, photo album, negatives, and rights to our pictures (meaning we can get copies withour having to get her permission everytime). She also works with a few other people that are not as expensive as she is and are just as good. Her website is www.lschneider.com and it has links to her coworkers sites.

We used Say Cheez Photography. I know the name is corny, but he was by far the most reasonably priced when we were looking 4 years ago. He charges by the hour intead of a set fee, and he gives you all the negatives when he is done, so you can develop or reprint at will. He's super nice about letting relatives and friends take their own pictures too.

I got married three years ago and did a lot of shopping around for a photographer and didn't want to spend a lot of money. I chose Happily Ever After photography in St. Paul. The pics were amazing. They did exactly what I wanted and I was very happy with the end result. Not sure of the contact info, but if you google it I know their website will come up. Ruth, the owner, is super cool. I hate getting my pic taken and she made me feel super comfortable.

Amy Anderson...not new, but an independent photographer is reasonable (no overhead) and wonderful. She's done two weddings of friends of mine and the pictures were amazing. ____@____.com

We used the photographer's guild in St.Paul. Now it has been almost 10 years since we were married but they took great pictures, were reasonably priced, and allowed us to buy the negatives after 5 years! I don't think a lot of places allow you to buy the negatives and that is something to think about. Good luck.

Thomas Kingrey is awesome and yes reasonably priced. We paid him in cash so he cut it down a bit more. He does understand being on a budget and will tell you how to get the most for the money too. I used Husby Photography for my wedding photo's 5 years ago. He's got his own wedding photography business and he's been doing it for years. He basically does photos from before the ceremony until after some of the dance...he'll even stay later than that if you want him...he checks in with you before he leaves. He's done several of my friends weddings as well and I've never heard a bad word about him. He was really good with our ring bearer and flower girl too and got some great pictures with them in in (they were 4 and 6). He lets you keep all the proofs and there's no roll limit, some places will only shoot so many rolls (however much you've decided to pay for). He's got several packages, so something should fit your budget. His prices are based on the package you want and not the amount of hours you want him there, which I found was the best option, because some other places only have 4, 6, 8 hour packages ect.

A couple of his packages even include video if you choose.
