I too searched on e-bay and found some really cute costumes for very reasonable rates! You can also look at old Navy, I think their costumes are on sale right now.
I am not sure where you live, but Cutie Patootie in Frisco on Main and Teel released 350 used baby Halloween costumes today at 10am! You could probably find a great deal there!
I've had good luck with babycenter.com and onestepahead.com.
The plus side is you can read the reviews and find out how the costume really turned out for other parents who've bought the same thing.
I have a cute ladybug costume 6/9 months in size. Let me know if you are inetereted. I can email you pictures, I would say $5 would be ok with me. My daughter wore it for her fist Halloween :) It was brand new, looks great, just sitting in her closet.

You might try to go to www.orientaltradingcompany.com they have halloween costumes and they are for a good price for all ages including infants and toddlers. You might try party city as well.

Once Upon A Child always have lots of Halloween costumes. They're priced pretty reasonable especially since they only wear it once!
We are purchasing my daughters Halloween costume from ebay this year ( she wants to be a unicorn and everywhere I have looked is already sold out!) Every other year I have gotten her costume from Party City, they have a large selection and are reasonable in price.
Babies R Us has some and Lilliam Vernon is offering a special on no shipping or handling right now. If you wait a little longer you might find them on sale soon but they could be limited. This will be my little ones' first Halloween as well.
There are two consignment sales this weekend-- one at the First Presbyterian Church in Allen-- opens to the public today at 5:00. There is also the Divine Consign Sale at the PLano Center this weekend-- they have over 700 consigners. You should be able to find something at these at a very reasonable price!
