Our next duty station is fort Campbell, KY. Does any one have any information on where to look for a house to buy. We are wanting a nice clean, safe, great school area. I have a 2 year old who will be starting there, and I want somewhere that is well....Not ghetto or trashy. Sorry about the phrase.

What can I do next?

Hey H. :-)
We PCSed over here from Campbell, I have a friend (milspouse) who does realty out there, she is PCSing in a few months, but I know that she would help you out with area reccommendations etc.
Crye-Leike Realtors ###-###-#### Her name is Pat Barnett.
She is also selling her own house, I think you can check out the link & get a little tour (so that you can at least get an idea of the types of houses out there)
I hope this helps you :-)
I LOVE clarksville, BTW it is an awesome place to live IMO ;-)
Good luck ad God bless!

Hi H.

We were stationed at Ft Campbell for 5 years. We lived in 3 different areas (1) off Lafayette Dr, which I DO NOT recommend. (2) off exit 11 in Sango area which I HIGHLY recommend..and (3) on post... Clarksville has it's pros and cons like any other community. But I think you'll be much happier in the Sango area, less theft and better schools and closer to nashville :) I'll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. We left there in '07.

Clarksville, TN. I haven't lived there, but my dear friend researched the area and bought a nice home in the Clarksville area. Less taxes and great schools. Go to greatschools.com and realtor.com and start looking. Also, there is a LARGE amount of empty new homes for sale. you can get a great deal on a new home.

Good luck,
A.

LOL..I laughed when I read your last phrase. I posted a few months ago looking for the same kind of info. We are PCS'ing to Ft Campbell this summer. I did get some info from a lady that I will be glad to share.

I am going there this weekend (leaving Thursday) and while I'm there, I will be meeting with a realtor to look at houses so I will be glad to share what I find. I am from Nashville which is about 55 miles from Clarksville but it has changed a lot in the last 9 years from what I hear.

I have a 4 year old that will be starting Kindergarten school Fall 2010.

This is what I have been told thus far: Exit 1(nearest to post) is more theft and the schools are not as good.
Exits 8 and 11 are supposed to be good schools. There is Richview elementary which is currently being built. I think that it will open this fall. There is Sango elementary which is supposed to be really good too.
There are many nice houses in Clarksville. We can talk more offline if you would like. I can give you more info when I get back from the states next week.

When are you PCS'ing?
