My husband has an interview coming up with a company on the south side of Nashville, TN. I'd like to use the power of the internet to start checking out the area. I will be looking at greatschools.org and Trulia, of course.

What can you tell me about the area? (We have a Kindergartener, so we'll want a good school!)

Thank you for your input!!!

What can I do next?

Brentwood is fantastic. We've lived there for a little over 2 years now and love it. The public schools are EXCELLENT and there are several great private schools in the general area. It's about 15 minutes south of Nashville. Private message me if you want more info about the area.

I live north of Nashville, and work in an elementary school here. If you want to email me I can try to help. :)

I moved down here from the Chicago area myself 10 years ago. LOL

Franklin, Tn is located on the south side of Nashville and is known for great schools, low taxes, and a great quality of life. Williamson County Schools are the top schools in Tennessee, and the top elementary schools in the Nashville area are in Brentwood and Franklin.

Brentwood and Belle Meade areas were the better areas when we used to go there for fanfair back in the mid-90s ... probably still are good areas.

Nashville is a wonderful area. It's very spread out and usually takes 15-20 minutes to get most places. There are lovely parks, great food, friendly people and plenty to do there. There are tons of things to do in the downtown area with museums, restaurants and the Nashville Predators (hockey) and Tennessee Titans (football) playing in the neighborhood. There are several colleges in town, so there are tons of college games all yr round too. There are lots of different activities and the nice weather lasts longer so kids play outside a lot longer in the year compared to the Midwest.

I went to college in Nashville and heading back tomorrow to visit for the weekend. My son was 2 when we moved, but we loved visiting Centennial Park near Vanderbilt to enjoy the flowers and to feed the ducks.
