Eye Cream? - Kansas City,MO

So I read (in magazines, I know!) that it is worth while to start using eye cream earlier rather than later in life. I wouldn't know where to start looking for a "good" eye cream. Any suggestions? I don't want anything too expensive, but would like it to be effective. I am 30 years old, have a two year old and a new addition coming in October. I don't have any major wrinkles around the eyes, just some purple underneath. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I use the Repairwear Series of Clinique.

I've used Clinique since I was about 12 consistantly. I am 48 and pass for early 30's. My 15 yr old daughter uses the Clinique line as well.

When you think about it, the products are not overly expensive because they last a long time (about 6 months).

Good luck

I've used a variety of creams for a number of years now (and I'll admit I've not been 100% faithful to the routine!) and recently used some products from Arbonne that I received as a gift. I liked them, but couldn't afford them and honestly wasn't sure if they were really doing anything.

When I ran out, I decided to try something new and inexpensive instead. After using it a month, I still didn't know if anything was different and one day decided to just stop and give up instead of buying more. However, for some reason out of the blue, that evening my husband mentioned my skin had been looking very nice. I was FLOORED! He's never said that, even when prompted. He had no idea I was using something new or that I was even thinking of just giving up on skincare.

What did I try? Lacura from ALDI! Yep, Aldi, the discount market. I use their face and eye creams and love them. And more importantly, they seem to make a difference! Super cheap, manufactured to EU standards (they are made in Germany) and not tested on animals. It's the best!

I am in your shoes (28 years old with a 1 year old) and I started using Olay Regenerist Eye Cream about 3 months ago. I like it--it seems to moisturize well, it feels silky, and I have noticed some of my (very minor) wrinkles going away. I figure, might as well try to prevent wrinkles while I can. I also use the Olay Regenerist face scrub/wash and it seems to work well together with the eye cream. I bought both with coupons when they were on sale, so it wasn't too pricey. Check the Olay website for coupons and rebate info. Good luck!

I've been using Philosophy's Hope in a Tube (eye and lip firming cream) for 10yrs. I'm 33 now. I have no wrinkles around my eyes, and see a notable difference in my friends that do not use anything.
It will help with the circles too.

I started using Mary Kay firming eye cream because I noticed some small wrinkles and it has helped a lot and I do recommend it. But I haven't ever tried anything else to compare it to.

Clinique's "All About Eyes" is what you need. It will moisturize to help prevent lines from forming too soon, and has ingredients to help w/ the dark circles (purple) under your eyes as well as help puffiness. It comes in two formulas so feel them both from a tester to see which one you like. One is a lightweight cream/gel (for eyes not so dry) and the "rich" version is a heavier cream for a drier eye area. A 1/2 oz. costs 28.50, and will last you about 6 months using it everyday twice a day. Use it sparingly. Clinique is Allergy Tested and Fragrance Free. It is their number one selling eye cream, so check it out!

I also swear by my Mary Kay Firming Eye Cream. For the purple underneath, I use a little concealer and then follow up with a facial highlighting pen to brighten. With concealers you use yellow to cover redness but a color close to your foundation color to conceal purple. A Mary Kay consultant can show you how to do that.

I have some great eye creams that I sell. I am a mobile spa consultant with Beauti Control Cosmetics. We have creams and pens for both wrinkles, and undereye darkness and puffiness. The one for darkness and puffyness has 20% active ingredient, that is the most possible. The one sold in stores has 2%. We also have a brand new (this month) wrinkle reducer pen that will rewrite history and let you change the future. Both are amazing. Beauti Control has been featured in O Magazine, Allure Magazine and The Today Show. Check them out on my website www.beautipage.net/ldulaney or give me a call ###-###-####. L.

I second the vote for Clinique's "All About Eyes". I have used it since I was in my late 20's (now 37) and have no wrinkles around my eyes. It also helps a lot with the dark circles.
