I don't understand why some people delete all their questions after getting a few responses. It just seems rude or wimpy to me like they say their piece and then control who reads it and how many responses they get by erasing it.
I say some pretty opinionated stuff on here and have received strong responses in the past. People often tell me in so many words they can't stand my point of view but I have never removed a question. I write it out, think about it a bit and then put it out there. For better or worse it stands unless someone else reports it.
I think looking over people's past posts is interesting and gives me a window into their thoughts. I could see taking down a single post if I had big regrets but all of them, what's up with that?
Does it bug you when people do that? If you are one of those people who erases all their questions why do you do it?
To clarify, I understand occasionally removing a question for a personal reason, change of heart, don't like the responses etc. I'm talking about the people who erase every single question they've ever asked. Just seems selfish or something. To each her own, I would never suggest someone does not have the right to do that, just that I don't like it.

I have deleted questions before, not because I didnt like what people had to say, but after it being up for a couple days I will get all paranoid about someone I know finding it.
And to be honest, thats my right and I dont really care what people think about it.
In this case I think the poster was just embarrassed for being exposed.
But I understand doing it for privacy reasons, because moonbats are everywhere!
It bugs me more when posts are removed or that people hit that stupid report button instead of being adults. I also think it's quite silly when people answer a post that clearly states the topic and feels the need to chime in with "this isn't a site for.......", hello just skip it, at least that's what I tell my own children.
I think it was yesterday or the day before that I went to click on flowers only to find an empty post. I love when people can dish it out but can't take it.
Oh well, it's nothing worth getting my undies in a bunch.
I feel it is for privacy reasons and I would MUCH rather see someone delete all of their posts than to pour out their personal lives online to a bunch of complete strangers for the world to see. There are a few people on here that I know WAY more about than I should and IMO that worries me.
No, it doesn't drive me nuts when people delete questions. They asked their question and most usually they didn't care for the responses they received. Or they realized that it was likely not prudent to post their question to begin with and don't want any more responses. OR their question was imprudent because someone they might know may run across it and they shared something they likely shouldn't have.
I just move on to a question that has a question!
It doesn't worry me at all. I'm surprised it worries others so much.

I've heard this asked before. Why does it bother you so much that you can't always go back and read what other people have written about their own lives?? Why not just be satisfied with going back and reading over your own stuff and charting your growth? Why would anybody need to be so passionate about having access to other people's expressions of their troubles? Yes, it's interesting, but it bugs you that much?? Dang.
PS. People who consider it a waste of their energy to answer a question that will later be removed are in it for the wrong reasons. Maybe your words will be helpful and maybe not, but once you give your no-strings-attached gift, it's done. If your ego needs to go back and admire your work, then keep your own file somewhere.

They could at least leave it up so another mom, who is wondering about the same problem or subject can read the answers.
After today and realizing a person deletes all of her Questions, I am now not going to answer the people that then go back and delete all of them. They are not respecting all of us that gave our time and energy to ask..
Sorry, but I do not like feeling used.
I only think poorly of them for doing it if they are nasty to people. There's one woman who comes on here ever so often who only wanted people to tell her how awful her ex and her ex-mil were and if you didn't agree with her or if you made any comment about how she could be misinterpreting things, her SWH's were unbelievably nasty. Screaming nasty at that. Once MP started removing her threads, she would wait until early the next morning to remove her post/SWH. (Presumably so that people wouldn't remember how terrible she was the next time she wrote...)
Other than that, different strokes for different folks. I don't require an explanation, either. People have their reasons...

I second what Molly said. I have deleted questions before and I am sorry if it annoys anyone or makes it so that they have less than a perfect picture of my past. There have been a lot of questions I have posted at a desperate hour, when I had no one else in real life to ask/vent to. At those times, the Mamapedia moms and dads have been wonderful and given me awesome advice. My deleting a question has nothing to do with not valuing or trying to implement that advice, and more to do with the paranoia that someone I know finds out more than I want them to about my personal life.
I did find it very odd that someone has deleted every one of her previous posts. I don't know if I've ever read one of her past posts, but what she had to say tonight did not impress me. Wonder if she enjoys stirring the pot?
It drives me crazy too! Makes me wonder what I missed!!
It's kind of annoying but it doesn't drive me crazy.
I treat cyberspace like real life, if I put it out there, it stays out there. But not everyone is like that.
I guess those people don't like to leave a trace, or they have some other *weird* reason for deleting their own voice?
