Do You like This Patio Furniture?

We saw this set in the store and really liked it. Most of the reviews were good, except for people complaining it arrived damaged, which I would send it back if it happened to us.

Anyways, there is a 9 piece set, not shown online, for $1300. The table is bigger and comes wiith two more chairs.

My concerns with it, if someone wanted to pull up an extra chair to the set, it is a high table, so that would not work unless we bought extra high chairs. Also, we have little children, and this will be on a deck. So the height concerns me.

I have a few other places I want to look before making a decision. Just thought I would throw this to you all and see if you could give me any insight that I might be missing.

Thanks!

I personally don't. I think it's too bulky for me and my back yard. I don't know how big your back yard is or if it's going to be on a deck or a patio...

I don't like things underneath the table - knees get knocked and shins get bonked. I know that legs are necessary but the "skirting" I don't do.

I think its NICE LOOKING!! And if I had a really big deck and HUGE back yard, I would consider it - without the skirting...

You could always get a bench seat for one side, just push it to the side and put plants or something pretty on it when you don't need it, but if lots of people are over, you could pull that up and spread the chairs out.

I like it, but from experience, that kind of stuff is HARD to clean. When pollen and dirt get in there, you really have to power wash the heck out of it to make it clean. I prefer the wider slats with the cushions on top (that I can just bring indie if it rains). I found my small set (love seat, 2 chairs, coffee table) at Pier One for $300, and ended up buying the last set for $80!!

Sure, looks nice, especially if those pillows are *not* included. My only concern would be your space: the table looks pretty long, and the whole thing is sort of substantial-looking, so you really need a fair bit of open space and light to make it work. It'd be likely to overwhelm a smaller, contained space. But if it fits the space you've got, why not?

Looks great and would probably work well if under a covered deck. I used to have "real" nice patio furniture. It sat out, got dirty, I ended up always storing the cushions inside so they'd stay clean and nice looking. Whenever we used the patio furniture, it would take a bit of trouble to clean off so we didn't use it much.

I gave up and picked up a metal mesh round table at Lowes, some metal mesh chairs that could be hosed off and a few larger-sized stackable resin chairs for extras. It all hoses and wipes off in a few minutes, looks decent and gets used more often because it's easy. Much cheaper, too. I thought cheaper would make it easier to replace when it got worn looking but the metal table and chairs have turned out to be very durable and still look like new.

I like the look, but not the height. I've seen a similar set and it's too high for my small children (almost 5) to comfortably climb up without the danger of tipping the chairs over. Plus, the extra height will make the set look bigger than it is -- like, it will look like it takes up more space, and unless your deck is huge, that might make the space look smaller than you want. If this came in regular height I'd say go for it. Oh - your concern about pulling up an extra chair is a real good one. You can't just pull up an extra chair, nor can you use these chairs as extra if you just want to go sit in another part of the deck. They'll be dining chairs only.

If it's going on a 3 season porch, I think it's great.

If it's going on a patio, especially one that's not covered...

At first sight it looks really nice, just like the set I bought aa few years ago, that I loved for the first year and then grew to hate it for the following reasons...
the cushions, although you can leave it out in the weather, the won't last long after a few rain storms
the chairs don't push in all the way, so it you want to use your patio for another purpose, it just takes up too much room
it's bulky and not easy to store for the winter

I like it, but you have valid concerns. Try Garden Ridge.

Yes I do. But I am kind of a freak about outside furniture and I would always want to pull my seat cushions inside if it was going to rain even though they say that they are protected. This year we opted to go with a set that doesnt have cushions. Good luck!
