What about a golf weekend? or a dinner at a wonderful restaurant with the family.....that is a wonderful gift for someone who has everything. Or a family Video of all your special times with him with music in the background. I bet you will gets lots of great responses here!!

I've given this gift twice - my dad's 60th and my grandma's 85th birthday. It's called a Memory Jar or Box. Basically whoever you want to include writes down favorite memories of the recipiant and puts them in the jar or box. I included siblings, cousins, friends, children and grandchildren. When I gave the memory box to my grandmother I even wrote down some of the memories my mom used to tell about her childhood because she had passed away.

Both my dad and grandmother loved their gifts. My grandma said it was the best present she had ever received and everyone at her party thought the idea was wonderful. I loved it because it shows the birthday boy or girl how much they have touched other people lives by living their own. I hope you do it for your dad.

One of the best ideas I have ever heard of came from another mama. It is Voicequilt. It is basically inexpensive but requires you to put a lot of time into arranging calls from friends and family to an 800 number. This is so meaningful because it gives people a chance to say those things one usually does not share until someone is gone. Just let them know what they mean in your life.

What about a tree? For that amount of money you could get a good sized tree and a plaque that says something about the family tree spreading out from him. Something like that. It would likely make him smile whenever he saw it, but doesn't require a lot of work on anyone's part. Trees are nice because they serve as a real visual reminder of how time is passing. Also, the whole family can enjoy it and use it as a base for family pictures, etc. Good luck!
