I love living in Cherokee County and have for 10 years. I have great friends here, but sometimes I'd like to connect with women who are more liberal-minded. Anyone in the same boat?

What can I do next?

crunchy....lol...never heard that one before :)

I understand what you mean, tho. I love a great debate but it seems I don't really get that with my associates here at work. And my family is waaaaaaay too conservative for me to really discuss a whole lot of issues. I think I'm a scholar at heart. I'm always asking, "Yeah, I understand your point but what if.....?" or "What about.....?" or trying to think outside the box a lot.

Thanks for the notes! Maybe we can meet at the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell one day! That's about midway between all of us and VERY crunchy! - C.

Hi C.,
You're not alone! In Forsyth County where I live, I'm definitely in the minority.
I'm originally from Boston, and lived in California for a few years. I am much more liberal-minded than most locals, and am always happy to know there are others around here!

I'm in the same boat. We love where we live, but do find the area a little conservative. Luckily my husband and I are usually on the same page as far as being open-minded and more liberal. When we moved to our neighborhood his family gave us a really hard time about moving to, as they put it, "the most conservative county in Georgia" But we found that that many of our immediate neighbors are more liberal-minded then we anticipated. Luckily, where I work,I am a teacher, there is a very broad spectrum of minds and I haven't had too much difficulty finding like-minded indivduals.

Just wanted to let you know you are not alone :-)

Crunchy liberal Bostonian here... moved to ATL just last year and really enjoy the area, but finding it hard to connect with like folks with a full time job, husband and now a new baby. Thank goodness for the local farmer's market, Whole Foods and the mountains!
