My 7 week old is exclus. breasfed. His poop has gone from the seedy mustard poop to CREAMY poop. It is still yellow but creamy instead of seedy? normal? anyone else's baby's have this?

He has had a big problem with gas and he only poops every 3 days which is what my first child did as well.

What can I do next?

breast fed babies don't poop a lot. sounds ok to me. call the doc though to be sure.

formula fed babies poop more often and more firm bc of all the "stuff" in formula.

best wishes-

yes this is normal, babies dont have the yellow seedy mustard poop the entire time they are breast fed. their bodies are adjusting and their bowels are becoming more aware of what is passing through them. Baby is fine.

I breastfed my two boys and while I can't remember the exact consistency of their poop at 7 weeks, what you're describing sounds pretty normal. I remember in the beginning weeks, they pooped every time they ate and then they began pooping only once a day...but every 3 days is normal to. I know it started out as seedy mustard color and then changed.

go to lalecheleague.org and I'm sure you'll get some info or just call either your pediatrician or lactation consultant to be sure there's not a problem.

He sounds perfectly normal. My girls would go up to 10 days without pooping.
