Colorado Parent Magazine Question - I Need Your Opinion!

Is there a Denver area parenting magazine that you would suggest? I know there is Colorado Parent Magazine and Kid's Directory, but I don't know anything about any of them. I'm trying to figure out where to advertise a home repair/ remodeling/ handyman service and want to reach women (since we make all of the decisions!,) so all details are appreciated.

*Which do you trust most? (ie: which is most "legitimate"?)
*Which are you most likely to pick up? Why?
*Which is easiest to find?
*Why do you read the ones you read? (Looking for good articles? calendar of events? coupons?)
*Are you likely to use any of the magazines to find party entertainment, child care or nannies, home & design/ handyman, products (like scrapbooking or camps?) Are you more likely to hire someone from the classifieds in the back, or the regular big ads throughout the magazine?

Would love any fb so that I feel informed before spending my money!

What can I do next?

I tend to pick up the Kids Pages. I see those magazines everywhere. I use them for calendars, ideas for places to go with my kids and party places/ideas.

I personally don't read the Colorado parent often even though it is everywhere. I might seriously look in to 5280 or the new Denver magazine if you are wanting local. I am not sure what your product or service is but I read 5280 every month. As far as ad placement I am not sure, I would probably be more likely to see something on the middle as opposed to a classified type. Good luck!

I don't tend to read any of those magazines, although all are available free to me. I used to do marketing consulting and one of the things I told all clients was to have a marketing plan before spending a dime. What most people do is buy an ad here or there in hopes of some success. So try creating a marketing plan first. You'll need to decide up front what your budget is and then stick to it. Then you can focus on your niche. This site might be a good use of your marketing money. Do keep in mind that if you advertise, you'll need to do it consistently at least 6 times before anyone even notices the advertising. If you don't have enough for 6 times, I'd suggest using your money in other ways - networking groups, or affiliations with targeted groups for instance.

Good luck!
