My husband and I are looking for a church in the Des Moines/Ankeny area. I've grown up Lutheran and have visited many churches over the last couple of years -- very open to denomination (Christian). Do you have any recommendations for us to visit -- one that you've found to be a good church "home?" Just some names are a good start and I will do some research on the web :)

My family attends First Family Church in Ankeny and we love it. They have recently bought the old Sports Complex building on Magezine Road for their new home. This church is contemporary and is for all ages. We are in our 30's and have a 8 yr and 1 yr old. My in laws also go and they are in their 50's. This is not your "average" church and I find it very comfortable and enjoyable and we call it "home". Pastor Todd along with everyone else is awesome and I know you would really enjoy it! Good Luck searching and I hope that you will give First Family a try. ;o)
Valley Evangelical Free Church - We love the small groups (Life Groups) and the many service opportunities to reach out to our community.
