I have really thick hair and currently use a cheap Walmart straightener, not with great results. I've heard comments here and there about chi straighteners being wonderful. Are they really worth the money?

What can I do next?

Yes. Totally worth it, especially if you use a good heat protecting product with it!

I got mine at Ulta and it came with a warranty.

Everyone I know that has one swears by them. I know you can find them on ebay for cheaper. I do not own one. I bought a ceramic straightener at Sally's but I have thick hair like you so it takes forever!

My mother has one and she has thick hair and she uses it everyday now instead of a curling iron. I have used it and it is so worth it.

Yes its really good for thick hair. And my friend had mentioned to me the other day that u can get a new one every two years for free just bring the old one in. I never heard about that but she did it, you might wanna ask someone at the store about that but it sounds like a good deal!

As a stylist, yes it is worth the money. One thing, it doesn't have a temp. control and you have to use hair products on your hair prior to using the chi or it will fry the ends of your hair. There are others out there that are just as good with a temp control, but will still cost you about the same. Here's a tip - section off your hair and use a light hold hair spray before using the iron. This saves you time and your hair from being cooked! Use biosilk, chi spray, or even S factor seriously straight afterward for a silky feel.

I have curly, thick hair and have a Chi. I love it! It is the only thing that has worked on my hair and kept it from looking frizzy. It is definitely worth the money!

I absolutely love my chi hair straightner. I used several cheap ones before that seemed to burn the ends of my hair. the chi heats up quickly and straightens beautifully. My salon uses them and I love how my hair looks when I leave there. I was very happy to spend the money. I have had mine a little over a year and it still works like new. I don't often spend much time on myself so when I do, I like to use some of the finer things... Buy one, you will love it.

I have had my hair straighten once with a Chi flat iron. It was done by my beautician. My hair has been natural now for 3 years. For 38 years my hair had been straightened with a permanent relaxer. After my hair was done with the iron it looked as if it was professionally relaxed. It was shiny and bouncy. I have never seen greater results before. Now I can maintain the health of my hair weather I wear it natural or straight. Your situation is unknown to me but if you can afford it yes, I highly recommend it.
