I know most of us wait to buy our meat in bulk when it goes on sale. Does your store offer sales on bulk meat on a certain day of the week? Do they do this every week/month?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

My store puts out bulk meat on sale on occassion but its usually within a day of expiring. So I don't buy it too often. I have a great butcher down the road but his prices are way too high for me, even in bulk. I'll have to visit again and see what I can wheel and deal with him. Thanks for answering guys!

We purchase directly from our butcher. I buy no meats from a grocery store at all.

My butcher is high end quality, I go about once every 2 months to stock up on prime and choice grade steaks, roasts, prime rib, lamb, ground beef, hamemade Italian sausages, pork, and chicken. I spend about $200 and I am well stocked for a couple of months.

He buys his beef from the same places the high end 5 star restaurants buy their steaks. I have my steaks cut to order, he knows exactly what we like. We pay about $12-$15 per steak but it is top notch quality.

He does not mark down his meats. He does have weekly specials and I hit those because sometimes I can get prime ribeye for $11.99/pound vs $14.99 per pound, FIlet $15.99 vs $19.99, etc

All our grocery ads come out on wed and the prices begin the following Sunday. Sunday morning is best because they are fully stocked with the sale items. I sometimes go before church.
