Hi Ladies! I need creative help. My brother (my only sibling) is turning 40. I won't be near him since he lives in Chicago, but I want to send something fun vs. a traditional card. I don't know what. Any ideas? He's a working dad of 3 in which 2 play soccer and he's at games most of the weekends. His third plays piano. Currently he spends all his free time at his kids activities and practically nothing on himself. He loves his college's football team. Appreciate any ideas.

What can I do next?

For a milestone birthday, I ususally give a gift that is special and has sentimental meaning or an experience.

Gifts that are special or sentimental include:
* A special photo album that you put together with your childhood and adult memories.
* An engraved watch.
* A oil painted replica of one of his baby photos.
* A 6-month or year long (whatever you can afford) subscription to the Sunset (magazine) Wine Club.
* If he has always had a wild dream to take up guitar or maybe play the harmonica, now is a perfect opportunity to purchase one of those instruments for him along with a "how to" video.

Experiences include:
* Tickets to a special theater production or concert that you know he would like to see.
* Day passes to a local amusement or water park for him and his family.
* A gift certificate for a special class or training that he has always wanted to do but never got around to it (golf, rock climbing, guitar, art, cooking, etc.).
* A gift certificate for a really special restaraunt in Chicago.
* Gift certificate for a 2-night stay at a not too far away B&B or resort in a vacation community for a little R&R.

That should get the ball rolling for you. Good luck selecting a gift.

Hi Michelle,

How about sending him a gift basket? I have my own online gift basket store with over 400 items to choose from. Since he is turning 40, there are a lot of fun "Over the Hill" gift baskets. There are also some sport themed baskets. We also have cookie bouqets that you can personalize. I would love for you to go to my store and check it out. My website is www.mylabellabaskets.com/tamii.html click on the picture that says shop online and it will take you to my store. If you have any questions, you can email me directly at ____@____.com of luck!

Does he have hobbies?
Personal interests?
That is a start for gift ideas....
Or maybe something from his college.... and their football team?
