Bow Legged 2 1/2 Year Old ?

Summer is here that means shorts for toddlers. Recently while my toddler was wearing his wet suit my friend noticed his one leg looked bow legged and it is noticeable. His knee above the shin was twisted on one leg --on the right side only. Never noticed before but maybe that is because it is time to wear shorts and bathing suits and now his legs are showing. Should I be concerned? He has a hernia now which they are watching and a peds urologist appt in 2 weeks could this cause this?

What can I do next?

The docs won't do anything because his bones are not solid yet. We take our 4 year old to the Podiatrist for bowed legs. He has lifts in his shoes to correct the turned in feet and they also help turn his legs properly. An Orthopedic doc is the best but they really don't do anything until years later.

I would take him to an orthopedist as soon as possible. Do not think a
hernia would cause this. Better to be safe than sorry.

Hi, S.:

A small hernia does not cause a bowed leg.

Call Dr. Stein's office in
Norristown and see what he says:

Just a thought.

It sounds like a seperate issue. I would make an appointment to see a orthopedic doctor.
