Belly Flab :( Is There Hope?

My baby is 16 months or so. And while I am down to a REALLY good weight, the belly.........

I am 5'3 and about 130 lbs. I am happy with myself except for my stomach. I'm not looking for flat abs, I realize that may never happen. But I am dtermined to improve! I am not a "dieter" but I have comitted to alot of rules from the second phase of the south beach. The first phase is for big weight loss first, then you go phase 2 after 2 weeks. I read it and laughed..NO WAY. NO carbs, fruit, sugar etc. I am a realist. I know I would fail.

I got a pretty good work out DVD yesterday, did it today and WOW. It targets abs, arms, legs, lower back and you use a small weight. I was DYING after I did it once.

So to any of you health savvy mammas, do I have a pretty good shot at flattening out my flabby baby belly? While I now some of it is stretch, it definitely looks to me like I could lose an inch or two of fat. What are my chances lol How often do I need to work out? TThis video is 45 minutes

First of all congrats on being 5'3 and 130. I am 5'3 and 165 so I look like an umpa lumpa (working on that). Anyway, it's hard to say whether or not you will lose your belly fat because everyone has different chemistry. What would work for one person may not work for you and vice versa. I would say talk with your doctor and see how much is extra weight versus how much is stretched out skin that can't be worked out no matter what. That's my issue. My stomach grew extremely large when I was pregnant with both of my children and so now I have a lot of skin that will never go away. My doctor said in order to get rid of it, i'd have to have a tummy tuck which is not an option for me. Not a fan of cosmetic surgery. So I chalk it up as part of the price of having big babies. Anyway, what is working for me is an hour workout, three times a week with lots of water. Ideally I would like to work out more but from what I understand, for your body to even respond to working out effectively, you have to work out at least three times a week at a minimum of 30 minutes. And you have to change up your routine every few months because your muscles get used to the routine and the routine becomes less effective. Good luck, I hope you achieve your ideal goal.

THERE IS HOPE :) I use It Works Body Wraps. After using them, I decided to sell them because they worked so well. I lost 10 inches from my belly with just three wraps. I promise it’s not some weird scam, because I thought the same thing. It’s a detox wrap that helps shrink fat cells. Anyway, they work great and yes, I do sell them, but I haven’t had a customer who tried a pack not buy more :) check out my facebook page www.facebook.com/itworksnevada or my website, itworksnevada.myitworks.com. I promise you, you will love this product! I’ve had two c-sections myself and found it harder to lose after the second one!

Radical weight loss solution. Eat more, drink more. (just do it differently).

Split your meals in half, and eat 6 times a day+ times a day, plus add more healthy food and drink. You'll soon weigh less and curb your appetite.

Let's say (for argument sake) that you routinely ate a sausage egg and cheese biscuit and a cup of coffee for breakfast, a chicken ceaser salad wrap delux for lunch, and salmon and a baked potato for dinner.

Tomorrow on your eat more weigh less diet, you'd split that biscuit and coffee in half and eat half + grapefruit at 7 am, and half plus an apple or almonds at 10 plus a glass or water or tea with each half of breakfast. you'd then eat the same chickenceaser salad wrap delux in two halves at 12 and 2 plus say a handful of carrot sticks, and a bunch of celery sticks and a class of water or unsweetened tea each time. Same routine for dinner (split the food, eat at two sittings, add extra healthy food and drink).

The point of this exercise is that you don't feel deprived. If however, you have a healthy appetite, you really can't possibly consume this much food all the time. If you stick with it, you will slowly find that you can't manage to eat the 2nd half of breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Give it a try.

As for the flat belly, targeted fat loss isn't possble. You will have to tone and reduce everywhere. Any exercise regimen which leaves you "dying" won't be sustainable for long.

You need something which you can/will do regularly. If your schedule allows for it, maybe you should split the video too. 1/2 in the morning with warm up and cool down, 1/2 in the evening with warm up and cool down. you will actually be getting more exercise because you are doing the warm up and cool down twice, but might not be quite so winded.

Good luck to you and yours.

I don't think you'll know until you try (we are all different). Also, while no sugar/carbs etc is unrealistic (for most of us!), I do belive a few things make a huge difference in this area. Try cutting out all soda, alcohol and fried foods, and candy or other totally processed foods. Drink TONS of water.... Good luck!
